On April 9, the Mauritius Pierrefonds Residential Area Infrastructure Project Department of Sinohydro Bureau 9, a subsidiary of Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), received the project acceptance certificate issued by the owner, marking that the Mauritius Pierrefonds Residential Area Infrastructure Project has successfully completed final acceptance and been smoothly handed over to the owner, fully entering the subsequent operation and maintenance phase.
The project's main construction scope includes building 10.5 km of asphalt roads, 2.7 km of perimeter walls and power grids, various drainage structures, providing various road facilities, supplying, installing and commissioning 8.6 km of water supply and sewage pipelines, and constructing power and communication facilities, among other items. After the project is completed and put into use, more than 500 housing units can be built on the infrastructure project, effectively helping to improve local residents' living conditions and injecting new momentum into local economic development.
Since the project was launched in March 2023, in the face of construction challenges featuring "extensive work areas, numerous cross-operations and high management difficulty," the project department has implemented a construction strategy of "zoning and sectioning with parallel advancement" to avoid duplicated resource input and improve operational efficiency and quality; it has set up a dedicated construction coordination team to dynamically track the progress and resource needs of each work area and ensure smooth linkage between processes; and it has strictly implemented the work safety responsibility system, formulating control plans for key links such as construction beneath high-voltage transmission towers and nighttime construction at road roundabouts, ensuring a safe and controllable construction process and further promoting high-quality project performance.
This project is the second large-scale infrastructure project undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 9 in Mauritius after the Legend Hill Residential Area Infrastructure Project. It fully demonstrates Sinohydro Bureau 9's solid construction capabilities and increasingly improved overseas performance level, further consolidates the brand influence of China Hydropower in the Mauritian market, and also provides valuable experience for the company in building overseas infrastructure projects.
