At 10:13 on April 8, the steam turbine of the Wengyuan County Circular Economy Environmental Protection Park Project of Shanghai Electric Power Construction No. 2 Company successfully completed its first rolling (turning gear) and reached rated speed, holding steady speed; at 10:17 the turbine-generator unit was successfully synchronized to the grid, marking the achievement of another important milestone for the project.

The Wengyuan County Circular Economy Environmental Protection Park Project is located in Xiandong Group, Longchuan Village, Guandu Town, Wengyuan County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. It is mainly responsible for treating domestic waste from Wengyuan County and Xinfeng County, with a total treatment capacity of 400 tons per day. The project is equipped with one 9 MW condensing steam turbine and one 10 MW generator, along with a fly ash landfill with a total capacity of approximately 178,000 cubic meters, and supporting facilities including a production water supply project of about 3 kilometers and an access road about 3.5 kilometers long and 6.0 meters wide.

To ensure the smooth completion of this rolling and grid connection, the Wengyuan project department planned and deployed in advance, scientifically and reasonably arranged each process, strictly controlled the conditions for rolling and grid connection, and ensured safety with no blind spots. At 2:05 a.m. on April 8, boiler ignition began; during the warming-up process, the unit operated normally at 600 rpm and 1,400 rpm, and then continued to increase speed to 6,700 rpm. At 10:13 on April 8, the steam turbine successfully rolled up to the rated speed of 7,200 rpm and held steady speed. After inspection and confirmation by the equipment manufacturer, supervision, commissioning, construction and other relevant units, all indicators such as turbine shaft vibration, bearing vibration and bearing temperature met design and specification requirements, and the unit's first rolling was successful. At 10:17 on April 8, with dispatch approval, the unit was successfully synchronized to the grid on the first attempt.

After the project is fully put into operation, the annual waste treatment volume is expected to reach 146,000 tons, which will effectively ease the pressure on regional waste treatment and completely change the previous extensive simple landfill treatment mode for domestic waste in Wengyuan County and Xinfeng County, realizing the "harmless, reduced and resource-based" treatment of domestic waste. After grid connection and power generation, the annual power generation can reach 60 million kWh and the annual output value can reach 42 million yuan, effectively extracting the "energy value" and "residual value" of waste. It will not only inject new vitality into local economic development, but also create 100 jobs and increase local tax revenue by more than 4 million yuan per year, truly achieving a win-win situation of environmental and economic benefits, and having far-reaching significance for promoting ecological civilization construction, improving the county's living environment, and advancing regional circular economy development and resource recycling.
