On March 22, the groundbreaking ceremony for the civil works and metal structure installation project of the upper reservoir of the Gansu Huanglong Pumped Storage Power Station was held in Qingshui County, Tianshui, Gansu, marking that the main project has entered the stage of full-scale construction.

The Huanglong Pumped Storage Power Station is a key implementation project advanced during China's 14th Five-Year Plan period, and it is also the pumped storage power station construction project with the largest installed capacity in Gansu Province. Both of its water-retaining dams are asphalt concrete core wall rockfill dams, with a dam crest elevation of 1,899 meters and a width of 10 meters. The Beiyugou dam has a crest length of 450 meters and a maximum dam height of 102 meters, while the Liangliushuigou dam has a crest length of 398 meters and a maximum dam height of 114 meters. Once completed, it will enhance the peak-shaving capacity of the Gansu power grid, improve the security and stability of the Gansu power grid, and be of great significance to building a new-type power system and achieving the dual carbon goals.

Sinohydro Bureau 4 Co., Ltd. undertook the construction of the caverns and part of the road works during the preparatory period of the Huanglong Pumped Storage Power Station, the road connecting the upper and lower reservoirs, and the civil works and metal structure installation of the upper reservoir.

At the ceremony, Sinohydro Bureau 4 stated that, as the main force in the construction of the Huanglong Pumped Storage Power Station project, it will rely on the profound technical foundation and rich management experience accumulated through years of deep involvement in the industry, fully carry forward the spirit of the Fourth Bureau's iron army, which dares to fight tough battles and is capable of winning them, and, with high morale and full enthusiasm, comprehensively manage project quality, safety, schedule, and environmental protection, striving to build the project into a high-quality project, an excellent project, a reassuring project, a profitable project, and a clean project, deeply integrating into Tianshui's development strategy and helping local high-quality development.
