On February 28, at the construction site of the Shunjiacun Bridge on the Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as the "Chengda-Wan HSR") in Ziyang City, Sichuan Province, the first OCS (overhead contact system) mast was steadily installed in place, marking that the Chengda-Wan HSR has officially entered the construction stage of the "four electrical" systems.

The Chengda-Wan HSR is an important component of the Yangtze River corridor in China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. The line starts from Tianfu Station in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in the west, passes through Ziyang, Suining, Nanchong, and Dazhou cities in Sichuan Province and Kaizhou District and Wanzhou District in Chongqing Municipality, and connects to the existing Wanzhou North Station of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-Speed Railway. The main line has a total length of 477 kilometers, a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and a construction period of 5 years.
The "four electrical" systems are the collective term for the four systems of communication, signaling, electric power, and electric traction power supply. They can be called the "central brain" and source of power of the high-speed railway and are a key link in high-speed railway construction. "High-speed trains obtain electric energy through the dynamic contact between the pantograph on the roof and the OCS, so the OCS system is also the 'power lifeline' of high-speed railway operation, and construction quality directly affects the safety and stability of train operation," said Zhang Xiangli, chief engineer of the Chengda-Wan Strong Current Engineering Command of China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau. The Chengda-Wan HSR project will adopt domestically advanced intelligent equipment such as a full-parameter visual simulation calculation and pre-assembly system for the OCS and constant-tension stringing vehicles to ensure that the precision error of OCS construction is controlled within the millimeter level, achieving one-time completion and one-time excellence in engineering construction, thereby laying a "zero-defect" "energy track" for the high-speed railway and ensuring absolutely stable power supply for train operation.

After the Chengda-Wan HSR project is completed, it will connect with existing high-speed railway lines and become a major high-speed railway artery for leaving Sichuan toward the east and north, forming a convenient passenger corridor from Chengdu directly to the Central Plains and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It will greatly facilitate travel for people along the line, promote economic and social development along the line, and be of great significance for supporting the implementation of national strategies such as the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
