On February 23, a construction mobilization meeting for the Guangxi Guilin Longsheng Pumped Storage Power Station project, undertaken by PowerChina's Sinohydro Bureau 1 Co., Ltd., was held in Longsheng County, Guilin, Guangxi, marking the official launch of the project.

The Guangxi Guilin Longsheng Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Longsheng Various Nationalities Autonomous County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a Class I large (1) type project with an installed capacity of 1.6 million kilowatts. The hub structures of the power station consist of the upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water conveyance system, underground powerhouse, and switch station. Upon completion, the project will have an annual power generation capacity of up to 1.946 billion kWh, saving approximately 631,000 tons of standard coal consumption for the power grid each year, and correspondingly reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by 1.435 million tons, sulfur dioxide emissions by 10,000 tons, and nitrogen oxide emissions by 8,000 tons, which is of great significance for improving regional environmental quality and promoting green development.

As an important strategic layout project in the energy sector of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the construction of this project will significantly enhance the capacity of northern Guangxi to accept, allocate, and regulate clean energy, provide strong support for the safe and stable power supply of Guilin and even the entire region, and provide strong momentum for optimizing the regional energy structure, promoting sustainable economic and social development, and supporting the construction of ecological civilization.

As the construction unit, the Sinohydro Bureau 1 construction team will further align with the project construction and contribute more PowerChina wisdom and strength to anchoring the building of a beautiful Guangxi and accelerating green and low-carbon development.
