On February 24, the hoisting of the No. 4 spillway traffic bridge of the Basnagoda Reservoir Project in Sri Lanka, undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd., was successfully completed, marking the successful breakthrough of the main dam body.

The Basnagoda Reservoir Project is located in the Gampaha and Kegalle administrative districts, 50 kilometers northeast of Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. With a design capacity of 3.5 million cubic meters, it includes a 190-meter-long, 23.4-meter-high dam, sluice gates, spillways, roads and other ancillary works. It is a water conservancy project integrating domestic water supply, industrial water supply, drinking water supply and flood control. Once completed, the project will be of great significance in solving irrigation and residential water supply difficulties in the region and alleviating downstream flooding.

It is reported that the hoisting task of the No. 4 spillway traffic bridge is technically demanding and difficult to construct. To ensure the smooth progress of the hoisting work, the project team planned ahead and carefully formulated the construction plan. During construction, all personnel worked together, strictly controlling every link—from the precise prefabrication of bridge components, to safety assurance during transportation, and to precise operation during hoisting—to ensure project quality and construction safety.

The early completion of the hoisting work not only demonstrates the project team's strong technical strength and outstanding execution capability, but is also of great significance to the overall advancement of the project. Subsequent work such as road paving and mechanical and electrical equipment installation can be carried out efficiently, injecting a "shot in the arm" into achieving the goal of completing the main project and handover.
