On February 20, the concrete pouring of the last wind turbine foundation for the 600 MW Monsoon Wind Power Project in Laos was successfully completed, marking the completion of all 133 turbine foundation constructions for the project. This created favorable conditions for the project to be connected to the grid and generate power ahead of schedule, and also laid a solid foundation for high-quality contract performance.

The last three turbine positions, WA309, WA418, and WA419, are located in a remote area of the wind farm with the highest altitude and exceptionally harsh climate. In this area, from October each year to February of the following year, there is a season of strong winds plus rain and fog, with wind force of level 7-8 and daily visibility of less than 10 meters, making construction extremely difficult. To win this tough battle, the project Party branch formed a Party member vanguard team, selected construction crew members with firm convictions, and equipped on-site construction personnel with windbreakers. When cranes could not lift materials in strong winds, manpower was quickly organized to carry pouring materials and equipment, and the foundation pit pouring work was successfully completed. The role of the Party branch as a fighting fortress and the exemplary role of Party members were fully brought into play, and a steel-like team capable of fighting tough battles and winning victories was cultivated, transforming organizational advantages into momentum for tackling difficulties and using the power of red to forge a wind power benchmark project. This won unanimous praise from the owner and the general contractor and laid a solid foundation for the second phase of the wind power project.

The Monsoon Wind Power Project in Laos has a total installed capacity of 600 MW. As Laos' first wind power project, the largest single wind power project in Southeast Asia, and Asia's first cross-border power transmission new energy project, it has attracted widespread attention from all parties. After the project is completed, it will mainly transmit electricity to Vietnam, which will not only effectively alleviate the power shortage in central Vietnam, but also help Laos accelerate the building of a "battery of Southeast Asia" and push regional new energy cooperation to a new level.
