On February 13, 2025, the first 2025 Secretariat (Expanded) Work Meeting of the Jiangsu Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering was held at the Conference Center of the First Geological Brigade of the Jiangsu Provincial Geological Bureau. Senior Engineer Yan Tingcheng, Executive Vice Chairman; Professor Wang Yuan, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General; Professor Zhang Dingwen, Executive Deputy Secretary-General; heads and secretaries of branch organizations; and secretariat staff attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Wang Yuan.

Xu Chenghua, Captain of the First Geological Brigade of the Jiangsu Provincial Geological Bureau, extended a warm welcome to the attendees and introduced the basic situation of the bureau's operations and development. He stated that the brigade would actively participate in the society's work, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the society, and jointly promote development. Heads of the society's nine professional committees and the consulting center reported in turn on their work in 2024 and their work plans for 2025. Professor Zhang Dingwen, Executive Deputy Secretary-General, reported on the society's key work plan for 2025, emphasizing that in 2025 the society should continue to carry out its work around the functional positioning of "four services and one strengthening," that the key work plan must highlight key priorities and difficulties, and that planning for the society's "15th Five-Year" development plan should be initiated as soon as possible. Senior Engineer Yan Tingcheng, Executive Vice Chairman, reported on the preparations for the "Jiangsu Provincial Academicians and Experts Innovation Center" and explained the adjustments to the heads of relevant professional committees. The attendees discussed the society's key work for 2025.

Professor Wang Yuan, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General, affirmed the outstanding work of the society's branch organizations and secretariat colleagues in 2024, while also pointing out the limitations in the development of the branch organizations. He emphasized that exchanges and cooperation should be strengthened among the professional committees and between the committees and enterprises and universities to promote interdisciplinary integration and development; the society must always adhere to serving its members, while also actively and proactively attracting outstanding talent to join the society, working together to contribute to the society's development and growth.
