On February 24, upholding the mission of building a manufacturing powerhouse, more than 600 industry guests and enterprise representatives from across the country gathered together to attend the 9th Member Congress and the 1st Council Meeting of the 9th Session of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association. Han Zhentang, Chairman of the 8th Council of the Association and Party Secretary and Chairman of Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (TZ), attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Spring is the season for sowing and also the season of hope. The meeting venue had an extraordinarily lively atmosphere, and the 2024 Heavy Machinery "World's Best" plaque award ceremony was held. TZ's 1300t bridgecranehonorwas "crowned", becoming the world's largest single-lifting-point bridge crane by lifting capacity! This demonstrated the company's brand image of continuously driving product iteration and upgrading, and gathering momentum and empowerment with global leadership and world-best records.

Holding responsibility as a torch and moving forward with collective strength, Han Zhentang delivered a speech amid warm applause. He pointed out that since taking office in 2020, the 8th Council has fully leveraged its own advantages and platform role. Facing complex and ever-changing situations, it has firmed up confidence and put action first, focused on major national strategic needs, closely centered on the core tasks of high-end, intelligent, and green development, adhered to innovation-driven development, fostered new quality productive forces, and driven the heavy machinery industry to achieve a series of breakthrough results.

Han Zhentang stated that over the past five years, the Association has made further breakthroughs in promoting industry development. The Association has fully leveraged its roles in investigation and research, policy recommendations, and service support, coordinated member units to advance hand in hand, gone all out to break through and break out, and innovate for efficiency and effectiveness, with industry-wide indicators such as operating revenue and total profit reaching historic highs. Over the past five years, the Association has further deepened its service to member units. The Association has fully leveraged its platform and window roles, conducted on-site visits to relevant enterprises, carried out comprehensive research on industry development, promoted the emergence of industry innovation achievements, organized the compilation of a brief history of industry development, and supported the building of the industrial workforce, making due contributions to promoting the high-quality and steady development of the heavy machinery industry. Over the past five years, the Association has further strengthened communication and exchange with the government. The Association has fully leveraged its role as a bridge and bond, actively innovated its working methods and content, provided decision-making references for relevant government departments, assisted relevant departments in carrying out industry operation monitoring and analysis, sought support from government departments in response to the needs of member units, and helped member enterprises resolve various key issues.

Though the dream is distant, it can be reached by pursuit; though the aspiration is arduous, it can be fulfilled by perseverance. Past achievements have not come easily and deserve to be cherished all the more; the future situation is complex and severe and requires concerted efforts.
