On February 20, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the booster station EPC general contracting project of the Yanyuan Maoniuping Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, undertaken by a consortium formed by Sinohydro Bureau 12 Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Electric Power Design & Consulting Co., Ltd., marking the project's official entry into the construction phase.

The project is located in the mountainous areas of Mianya Town and Baiwu Town in Yanyuan County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The project section covers Plots 3# and 7#, each of which will be equipped with a 220 kV booster station. The energy storage system is planned for Plot 7#, with an installed capacity of 68 MW/136 MWh. The 3# and 7# booster stations occupy a total area of approximately 56,000 square meters and are mainly planned to include transmission and distribution buildings such as a main control complex building, a distribution building, and auxiliary buildings. The booster stations are located at an altitude of 2,715 to 3,600 meters, with sites utilizing barren mountain slopes, which can serve as a strong engineering demonstration in the mountainous and farmland-scarce Liangshan Prefecture region.

The official start of construction of the 3# and 7# booster stations marks the project's sprint toward the goal of grid-connected power generation. The construction of the project will effectively enhance the local capacity to connect and consume new energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics, improve overall energy utilization efficiency, further optimize the regional power grid structure, and provide strong support for the green energy supply of Liangshan Prefecture and even Sichuan Province. During construction, the project will also create a large number of local employment opportunities, drive the development of related industrial chains, and simultaneously boost local economic development and support rural revitalization. After the project is fully connected to the grid at full capacity, it is expected to deliver approximately 1.13 billion kWh of clean electricity to the grid each year, save about 340,000 tons of standard coal annually, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 930,000 tons.
