Recently, the construction of the Wawa Dam and Wawa Pumped Storage projects in the Philippines, undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 3 Co., Ltd., has gained further momentum after the Spring Festival, with project performance accelerating once again. The project's construction progress drew attention and coverage from Shaanxi TV's Belt and Road news program "Silk Road New Weekly."

After the Spring Festival, the team of the Philippine Wawa Dam project organized personnel to efficiently advance various construction tasks according to the original plan. During construction, constrained by factors such as limited land acquisition space and difficulties in resource organization, the project team significantly improved construction efficiency through optimizing and adjusting the construction plan and rational resource allocation, fully demonstrating PowerChina's high quality and efficiency in the energy construction field. At present, the main works of the Philippine Wawa Dam project have been fully completed and have entered the official gate-closing impoundment stage. The remaining works mainly consist of the newly added power generation facilities under variation, which are expected to be fully completed before the end of May 2025.

The Philippine Wawa Water Supply Project Dam Engineering Project is located in Rodriguez, Rizal Province, the Philippines. It is a flagship project in the Philippines' "Build, Build, Build" infrastructure development plan. It is a roller-compacted concrete dam with a dam axis length of 438.5 meters, a dam height of 86 meters, and a designed crest elevation of 140 meters, covering an ungated spillway, discharge bottom outlets, ecological release outlets, diversion box culverts, etc. After completion, the project is expected to supply up to 500,000 tons of water per day, thereby greatly alleviating the water resource shortage in eastern Metro Manila and continuously improving the well-being of local residents.

The team of the Philippine Wawa Pumped Storage Project efficiently coordinated various on-site construction tasks and actively opened up various working faces. At present, with the official excavation of the main access tunnel, the project has achieved the construction condition of full tunnel entry one month ahead of the original plan. The Wawa Pumped Storage Power Station project is located in Antipolo City, about 20 kilometers east of Quezon City in the capital region of Manila. The power station has a single-unit capacity of 300 megawatts and a total installed capacity of 600 megawatts, adopting variable-speed unit technology. After completion, it will help boost the Philippines' renewable energy development.

The high-quality construction and efficient performance of the Philippine Wawa Dam and Wawa Pumped Storage projects mark a phased breakthrough in Sinohydro Bureau 3 Co., Ltd.'s cluster of ongoing infrastructure projects in the Philippines. They have attracted great attention from local society, fully demonstrating PowerChina's outstanding strength in the international hydropower engineering field, laying a solid foundation for further expanding into the Southeast Asian market, and contributing PowerChina's strength to high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
