In the first issue of Qiushi magazine in 2025, a signed article by the Party Committee of SASAC of the State Council was published, citing the "Jianghan Neolithic Age" open-type rock tunnel boring machine, the largest-diameter such machine ever developed in China, developed by CRCHI (China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation), as a typical case of state-owned central enterprises comprehensively strengthening their innovation capacity system and promoting high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-strengthening.

In recent years, CRCHI has earnestly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, SASAC of the State Council, and China Railway Construction Corporation, benchmarked against world-class standards, accelerated the cultivation of new quality productive forces, and striven to promote high-quality corporate development. The company has won the China Industrial Award, been named a National Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Factory and a National Green Factory, been selected by SASAC of the State Council as a "World-Class Specialized Leading Demonstration Enterprise," been rated as a benchmark enterprise in the "Science and Technology Reform Demonstration Enterprise" program for two consecutive years, and had two subsidiaries selected by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative "little giant" enterprises. In 2024, CRCHI ranked No. 1 among global tunnel engineering equipment manufacturers and No. 1 among China's specialized construction machinery manufacturers.

"Jianghai," China's self-developed largest-diameter (16.64-meter) shield tunneling machine, was rolled off the production line at CRCHI and selected as one of the "Top Ten National Heavy Equipment of Central Enterprises in 2024."

In 2024, CRCHI fully implemented its medium- and long-term development strategy of "One Positioning, Five New Directions, Six Modernizations and Six Highs," established the China Railway Construction High-End Equipment Industry Technology Research Institute, and strengthened the "Ten-in-One" innovation platform.

On the path of innovative development, CRCHI has continuously broken through its own limits, building a new highland for high-end equipment intelligent manufacturing and developing more than 100 major pieces of equipment that are the first of their kind globally or domestically, including China's self-developed largest-diameter shield tunneling machine "Jianghai," which have been successfully applied in more than 200 major projects at home and abroad. On January 1, 2025, the "Top Ten National Heavy Equipment of Central Enterprises in 2024" were grandly unveiled, and "Jianghai" was selected alongside the first ocean drilling ship "Mengxiang" and China's largest-scale quantum computing cluster "Tianyan." This marks the second time that a national heavy equipment independently developed by CRCHI has been shortlisted, following the world's largest shaft boring machine "Mengxiang," demonstrating how the largest domestic equipment bears the "heavy responsibility of the nation."
