On February 8, Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd. won the bid for the cavern and road works (Q1 section) of the Fujian Dehua Pumped Storage Power Station during its preparatory period, with a construction period of 635 calendar days.

As one of the key implementation projects under the Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Pumped Storage (2021-2035), the Fujian Dehua Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Longmentan Town, Dehua County, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, and is the largest single project in terms of investment scale ever undertaken in Dehua County. The station has an installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts and is equipped with four reversible pump-turbine units. The hub works mainly include the upper reservoir, lower reservoir, underground powerhouse, water conveyance and power generation system, and surface switchyard. The designed continuous full-load operating hours are 9 hours, with an estimated annual power generation of 1.38 billion kilowatt-hours. Upon completion, the station will undertake tasks such as peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, frequency regulation, phase modulation, and emergency reserve for the power system.
