Recently, Unit 6 of the Huadian Fujian Kemen Phase III 2×1000 MW clean and efficient coal power project, constructed by PowerChina Nuclear Engineering Company, successfully passed the 168-hour trial operation, marking the completion and commissioning of the power plant with the largest installed capacity in Fujian Province.

The Huadian Kemen Phase III project is one of the 102 major projects in the National "14th Five-Year Plan" Outline and a key energy supply guarantee project in Fujian Province's "14th Five-Year Plan." The project is Fujian Province's first ultra-supercritical double-reheat million-kilowatt unit, and the only double-reheat power generation project of Huadian Group during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. It is the first in China to adopt a 100% capacity double-reheat feedwater pump set. The unit's coal consumption for power generation can reach 251.1 grams per kilowatt-hour, saving 83,700 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 219,300 tons per year compared with conventional thermal power units, delivering significant economic and ecological environmental benefits.

Since construction began on February 18, 2023, the Kemen project team of PowerChina Nuclear Engineering Company has pursued the goal of "building a premium project and creating a national excellence," adhered to the working philosophy of "projects with planning, work with standards," and adopted the posture that "the start is the decisive battle, and the outset demands a sprint." Carrying forward the spirit of perseverance, the team planned ahead, coordinated comprehensively, and performed contracts resolutely, advancing the project safely, with high quality, and efficiently. They achieved multiple first-attempt successes, including energization of station service power, turbine cylinder closure, boiler hydrostatic test, boiler ignition, turbine rolling, unit grid connection, and the 168-hour trial operation, completing the construction task of Unit 6 with high quality and securing a strong start in the first quarter of 2025.

After the Huadian Kemen Phase III project is fully operational, its annual power generation can reach 9.4 billion kilowatt-hours. It will effectively play the role of "ballast stone" and "pillar" of a clean and efficient coal power project, providing strong energy support for the high-quality development of the West Taiwan Strait economy.
