On January 19, it was learned that the central laboratory of the Pakistan Basha Dam Package Project—the world's highest and largest roller-compacted concrete dam currently under construction, undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 7 Co., Ltd. of Power Construction Corporation of China—has been awarded the ISO/IEC 17025 international standardization certification certificate by the Pakistan National Accreditation Council, becoming the first construction-site laboratory in Pakistan to complete such certification.

Since its establishment in December 2020, the Basha Project Central Laboratory has been committed to equipping itself with internationally leading large-scale testing equipment. At present, the laboratory already possesses 109 sets of high-end equipment for testing Poisson's ratio, axial tensile elastic modulus, creep deformation, and other parameters, capable of meeting comprehensive testing and inspection needs ranging from performance testing of basic materials to integrated assessment of complex systems. In addition, the laboratory has built a standardized working environment and an advanced environmental control system that can precisely regulate environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity, ensuring the accuracy and repeatability of test results and providing precise and efficient testing support for the smooth performance of the project contract.

The project department began ISO certification work in July 2022, completed in March 2024 all parallel testing required for certification against the international system, and officially obtained the certification certificate on January 7, 2025. Passing the ISO certification indicates that the project central laboratory has met international standardized management requirements in aspects such as document management, resource management, environmental management, and testing processes.

The Basha Project will advance high-quality engineering construction by continuously improving a new quality management system involving all personnel, all elements, the entire process, and all data, further enhancing the brand influence of Power Construction Corporation of China in Pakistan.
