Currently, the Shanghai plant's products include compact crawler式excavators, medium andlarge crawler excavators, and wheel loaders, covering both conventional and electric products, with plans to further expand into local production of core components in the future. The launch of the new workshop will greatly enhance production efficiency, with an additional capacity of 1,200 units for electric loaders and 1,000 units for compact excavators. Notably, the first L120 electric loader from the new production line was successfully launched in 2024, and the EC230 electric excavator will also be officially introduced this year. These new products will further expand Volvo Construction Equipment's electric product portfolio to meet the growing demand for electric machinery in the construction industry, reducing carbon footprint while providing customers with more competitive pure electric solutions. In its global market layout, Volvo Construction Equipment leverages the technical advantages of its Jinan R&D Center as well as local production capacity and supply chain advantages, striving to extend China's industrial system to other global markets and comprehensively meet the needs of both domestic and global customers.

New Workshop Tour

In advancing its sustainable development transformation, Volvo Construction Equipment has set long-term goals of "100% safety, 100% fossil-free, and 100% productivity increase," leading the industry direction with green transformation. As a pioneer practitioner of this goal, the Shanghai plant's new workshop integrates resource conservation and environmental protection throughout its entire business development process. Starting from the three innovation dimensions of electrification, automation, and connectivity, it continuously optimizes production processes and significantly reduces energy consumption and emissions. By reducing the use of material packaging and promoting measures such as reusable racks, the new workshop continuously improves operational efficiency and reduces resource waste. In addition, the Science Based Targets (SBT) working group regularly tracks project progress to steadily advance energy conservation and emission reduction efforts, achieving remarkable results. In October 2024, the Shanghai plant successfully obtained "Zero Waste to Landfill" certification for its outstanding environmental performance, becoming a benchmark model in the field of sustainable development.

New Workshop Inauguration Ceremony

Volvo Construction Equipment will take the new workshop, new products, and new technologies as a new starting point, joining hands with local supply chain and technology partners to continue driving innovation and green development, continuously advancing business upgrades, and serving domestic and global markets with more competitive products and total solutions, helping the industry move toward a more sustainable future.
