Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly announced the list of Excellence-Level Smart Factories (First Batch). Four companies under Shandong Heavy Industry Group—Weichai Power, Shantui Construction Machinery, Fast Gear, and Hande Axle—were selected as "Excellence-Level Smart Factories."

To deeply advance the digital transformation and intelligent upgrading of the manufacturing industry, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has organized and carried out a tiered cultivation initiative for smart factories since 2024, establishing a four-tier smart factory cultivation system: "Basic Level (Municipal) — Advanced Level (Provincial) — Excellence Level (National) — Leading Level (World-Class)." The list announced this time comprises the first batch of Excellence-Level Smart Factory application projects launched by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, totaling 235 nationwide.
