Recently, the 60 MW photovoltaic project of Huaneng Zuoquan Phase II undertaken by Shanghai Electric Power Construction No. 2 Company achieved a successful one-time grid connection. The three 35 kV collector lines E, F, and G were successively closed and all energized successfully; subsequently, the upper-tower disconnect switches of the box-type transformers on each line were closed in sequence, and the box-type transformer impulse tests were successfully completed as required. In accordance with the load dispatch instructions of the grid, the inverters in each array area successfully completed self-testing and generated power under load after the low-voltage side switches were closed, with all equipment status and parameters normal.

The Huaneng Zuoquan Phase II 60 MW photovoltaic project is located in Shixia Township, Zuoquan County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, covering an area of about 1,400 mu, with an installed capacity of 60 MW, 3 collector lines, 27 box-type transformers, and 188 inverters. A total of 138,970 580 Wp photovoltaic modules were installed, all on hills at an altitude of about 1,400 meters, where the terrain is steep and the photovoltaic array areas are scattered.

Since the commencement of construction on June 27, 2024, under the meticulous organization of the project department, all personnel have worked with one heart and in sincere unity. During the process, they actively communicated with the owner, supervisor, and design parties, reversed the construction schedule, and overcame many problems such as the variable local weather and the tight construction period. Through scientific planning, the construction road works were designed as a loop based on the project's terrain characteristics to reduce the difficulty of machinery and vehicles meeting and passing each other when going up and down the mountain, thereby improving on-site operational efficiency. Flexible construction was carried out according to the characteristics of local climatic conditions, avoiding the winter and rainy seasons for concrete foundation works to improve construction quality. Key milestones such as the road works, cast-in-place piles and box-type transformer and tower foundation works, line erection and commissioning and box-type transformer installation and commissioning, and photovoltaic area installation and commissioning were completed efficiently and with high quality in sequence.

During installation and commissioning, the project department strictly controlled safety in production and actively cooperated with the owner, supervisor, production, and commissioning parties to promptly complete various defect elimination work. The smooth achievement of this milestone marks that the installation and commissioning work of the Zuoquan Phase II 60 MW photovoltaic project has basically been fully completed, taking a solid step toward project handover and commissioning.

After the project is put into operation, it is expected to generate an average annual power output of about 84 million kWh, save more than 25,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 70,000 tons, with significant economic and environmental benefits. Next, the project team will, in accordance with the company's requirements for work style development and refined management, actively carry out the follow-up defect elimination and closing work, and persistently contribute to the high-quality fulfillment of the project.
