New year brings new joy, and another new honor!

Recently, two Six Sigma achievements from TZ (Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group) were respectively awarded the Six Sigma National Standard Application Outstanding Project Case and Breakthrough Project Case. The awards were granted by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Statistical Methods Application, and the project achievements were commended at the fourth meeting of the Lean Six Sigma Methods and Applications Working Group.

The Lean Six Sigma Methods and Applications Working Group is a technical working organization mainly engaged in the drafting and promotion of standards related to Lean Six Sigma methods and their applications, composed of experts from relevant government departments, industry associations, enterprises, institutions of higher learning, and scientific research units. The two achievements of TZ won the highest-level and second-highest-level awards in this selection, which not only fully affirms the company's quality management innovation but also further enhances the company's industry influence and social reputation, fully demonstrating the brand image of "TZ of the Nation."

Achievement summary: Using analytical methods such as regression analysis, binary logistic regression, and DOE response surface methodology in Six Sigma, the parameters of steel plate cutting speed and pressure during the blanking process were optimized, reducing the first-pass unqualified rate of cutting line bevels from 7.3% to 2%, while also providing a new method for improving plasma and laser cutting of steel plates.

Achievement summary: Using a series of advanced tools and testing methods, an in-depth analysis was conducted on the machining process of the internal gear ring of wind power gearboxes, and an innovative improvement plan was designed, raising the first-pass qualified rate of pin holes from 89.8% to 98.9%, achieving a dual leap in product quality and machining efficiency.

Pursuing excellence and achieving long-term success through "quality." The company vigorously promotes the application of Lean Six Sigma management tools, integrates the Six Sigma management concept into production and operations, implements quality improvement activities involving all employees, the entire process, and all elements, bringing product quality assurance to a new level and forging "strong bones and sinews" of high-level quality management. At the same time, the company regards Six Sigma talent cultivation as an important part of improving the quality of all employees, widely carrying out Six Sigma training, and creating a strong atmosphere in which "everyone values quality and everyone participates in quality." Since 2024, 106 people from the company have passed the China Association for Quality examination, including 21 Black Belts and 85 Green Belts, and 6 people have obtained Lean Six Sigma grade certificates, providing solid talent support for the company's quality management improvement.

Achievements affirm the past, while the future carries heavy responsibilities and a long road ahead.
