Recently, the Pinghu South-Yantian Port Railway (hereinafter referred to as the "Pingyan Railway") reconstruction project in Shenzhen, undertaken by China Railway No.3 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., has made smooth progress in its advance section and civil works Section 4. The Yantian inclined shaft in the advance section has been completed, the Anliang inclined shaft is 90% complete, and construction has started smoothly in all work areas of civil works Section 4.

The advance section and civil works Section 4 of the Pingyan Railway reconstruction project, undertaken by China Railway No.3 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., mainly comprise the Anliang inclined shaft, the Yantian inclined shaft, and 5.08 kilometers of tunnel construction using the mining method. With the support of government units such as Yuanshan Subdistrict and Yantian Subdistrict, all project personnel have continued to strengthen construction organization and management, taking safety as the foundation, quality as the core, and schedule as the guarantee. At present, the Yantian inclined shaft in the advance section has been completed, the Anliang inclined shaft is 90% complete, and construction has started smoothly in all work areas of civil works Section 4.

Pingyan Railway reconstruction project

The Pingyan Railway reconstruction project is the only dedicated sea-rail intermodal transport line in Shenzhen that seamlessly connects the port area with the national railway network. It will be transformed from a single-track non-electrified railway laid at grade into a predominantly underground electrified railway. The line consists of a 19.7-kilometer main line and a 4.2-kilometer branch line, making it a "golden corridor" connecting the port area with the national railway network.

After the project is completed, it will greatly alleviate the bottleneck of saturated sea-rail intermodal transport capacity in Shenzhen and optimize and adjust Shenzhen's transport structure. It will play a positive role in promoting Yantian Port as an important sea outlet of China's north-south railway trunk lines, and is of great significance for building a "railway + sea route" corridor for cross-border freight from China's central and western inland regions to Europe and the United States via Yantian Port.
