On January 1, the stator of the first unit (Unit 4) of the Yebatan Hydropower Station—the double-curvature arch dam hydropower station with the highest altitude in China, for which Sinohydro Bureau 7 Co., Ltd. undertook the installation task—was successfully hoisted into place, marking the station's entry into the sprint phase of electromechanical installation.

It is understood that the hydropower station is located at the junction of Gaiyu Township in Baiyu County, Sichuan Province and Luomai Township in Gongjue County, Tibet. It is an important part of the national "West-to-East Power Transmission" successor base and the construction of the southwest hydropower base. The underground powerhouse houses four units with a single-unit capacity of 510,000 kilowatts and two ecological units with a single-unit capacity of 200,000 kilowatts, with a total installed capacity of 2.24 million kilowatts. Sinohydro Bureau 7 Co., Ltd. undertook the electromechanical equipment installation for all units.

The stator hoisting work was carried out in the underground powerhouse of the Yebatan Hydropower Station. This space, located 480 meters underground, is currently the largest and deepest underground powerhouse among hydropower projects under construction in China.

The stator of Unit 4 consists of the stator core, stator windings and frame. The stator core is made of more than 270,000 silicon steel sheets, each 0.5 mm thick, stacked together. The stator frame has an outer diameter of 15,600 mm, a net height of 4,220 mm, and a total lifting weight of 623 tons. On the eve of hoisting, the project department conducted a safety technical briefing on the stator hoisting operation, and the owner and supervisor carried out a comprehensive inspection of the main powerhouse bridge crane, using professional lifting gear provided by the manufacturer to ensure the smooth hoisting of the first unit's stator.

After the Yebatan Hydropower Station is put into operation, its multi-year average annual power generation will be 10.205 billion kWh, saving 3.99 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 7.37 million tons each year. The clean electricity generated will be transmitted to Central China for consumption via the Jinshang-Hubei ±800 kV DC transmission project, the world's first large-capacity hydro-photovoltaic complementary DC transmission channel, which is of great significance for optimizing China's energy structure and promoting regional economic and social development.
