On December 27, the Chuan-Yu 1,000 kV UHV AC project—China's first high-altitude UHV AC project, in which the company participated in construction—was completed and put into operation. It is of great significance for ensuring the safe and reliable supply of electricity in Southwest China and enhancing the power transmission capacity of the western Sichuan region.

The Chuan-Yu 1,000 kV UHV AC project is a key project in the national "14th Five-Year Plan" for electric power development, as well as China's first high-altitude UHV AC project and the first UHV AC project in Southwest China. After the project was put into operation, the voltage level of the main grid of Southwest China's power grid was raised from 500 kV to 1,000 kV, and up to 35 billion kWh of clean electricity can be transmitted each year from western Sichuan and other areas to load centers in Sichuan and Chongqing, equivalent to the annual household electricity consumption of nearly 10 million households.

The project is of great significance for ensuring the safe and reliable supply of electricity in Southwest China this winter and next spring and in the future, enhancing the power transmission capacity of the western Sichuan region, accelerating the construction of a new energy system and the development of new quality productive forces, promoting technological innovation and breakthroughs in high-altitude UHV power transmission, and driving upstream and downstream industries and supporting high-quality local economic and social development. At the same time, the project can improve the cross-provincial and cross-regional interconnection and mutual support capacity of the Sichuan-Chongqing power grid, effectively enhance the system stability, operational reliability, and resource allocation capacity of the Southwest China power grid, and strongly improve the overall power supply guarantee capacity of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

The project involves a total investment of 28.631 billion yuan, the construction of 1,316 kilometers of new 1,000 kV lines, and the construction of four new 1,000 kV substations in Garze, Tianfu South, Chengdu East, and Tongliang.
