This morning, at the site of Sanmen Road Station on Metro Line 20, Yangpu District held the 2025 Major Project Signing, Major Project Promotion Meeting and Major Project Groundbreaking Ceremony. The Yangpu section of Line 20 officially began construction, involving major projects and major works with a total investment of approximately 47.5 billion yuan.
To implement the requirement of "seeking progress while maintaining stability and making a vigorous leap," promote the early start and early construction of major projects, and turn the "construction blueprint" set by the Municipal Party Committee into a "real-world picture" of high-quality development, Yangpu District held a centralized signing involving 50 enterprises on the first working day of 2025, with a total investment of more than 18 billion yuan. Among them, Chery Commercial Vehicle will establish its global administrative headquarters and Shanghai Research Institute in Yangpu, a prospect that attracts attention.
The reporter learned at the event that in 2024, Yangpu District achieved the start of 26 major projects in total, with a total construction area of approximately 1.197 million square meters and a total investment of approximately 32.63 billion yuan. In 2025, Yangpu District will continue to arrange 100 major projects, including 90 formal projects and 10 preparatory projects. Among the 90 formal projects, 26 are newly started, with a total construction area of approximately 927,000 square meters and a total investment of approximately 29.585 billion yuan; 25 are completed projects, of which 4 were started and completed in the same year, with a total construction area of approximately 644,600 square meters and a total investment of approximately 18.649 billion yuan; and 43 are under construction, with a total construction area of approximately 3.5604 million square meters and a total investment of approximately 98.287 billion yuan.
It is understood that the major projects in Yangpu District in 2025 are mainly industrial projects, while infrastructure, social undertakings, university construction, and urban renewal are also advanced simultaneously. Yangpu will continue to actively promote the accelerated construction of projects with large investment scale, high industrial relevance in planning, and obvious driving effects. Through these projects, it will effectively upgrade the regional industrial level, extend the industrial chain, accelerate the clustering of industrial functions, and lay a solid foundation for optimizing and adjusting the district's economic structure and upgrading industries.
