As the major livelihood water conservancy project with the largest investment, the broadest scope, and the most beneficiaries in Chongqing's history, the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project has made new progress. On December 27, the entire Donggan Line of the Chongqing Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project, constructed by PowerChina Roadbridge Group, was fully connected, laying a solid foundation for the complete completion and water supply of the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project.

As an important component of the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project and a key water conveyance trunk line in the southern area, the Donggan Line Project has a total water conveyance route length of 56.5 kilometers and an annual water conveyance capacity of more than 300 million cubic meters, accounting for 30% of the total water supply of the Yuxi Project. Upon connection, it will further optimize the water supply pattern in the Yuxi area, effectively enhance the water supply security capacity of Jiangjin District, Jiulongpo District, High-tech Zone, and Bishan District, and increase the reliability and security of water supply of the Yuxi Project, benefiting 2.4 million people.

Since construction began in January 2021, the Donggan Line Project has faced many complex situations and constraints. It has crossed under buildings, expressways, rail transit, and industrial plants 29 times, and passes through multiple urban planning areas. The pipeline route is subject to numerous restrictions from major urban gas supply pipelines, municipal water supply and sewage pipe networks, and must also cross complex terrain such as Niubei Mountain and Qingfeng Mountain.

To address these challenges, the PowerChina project team actively introduced digital technologies such as BIM (Building Information Modeling) and GIS (Geographic Information System) to build a smart construction management platform, thereby achieving full coverage of project construction management and realizing all-factor management and full-process recording. At the same time, through the scientific and rational formulation of a series of joint measures, such as advanced geological forecasting and gas concentration over-limit warning mechanisms, construction safety and progress have been effectively ensured.

Next, the project team will further strengthen scheduling, reverse the construction timetable, and advance according to schedule to ensure the project is completed on time, achieve the goal of full-line water supply, accelerate the formation of a mutual support pattern between the two rivers, enhance the water supply security capacity of the Yuxi area, and support regional economic and social development.
