On December 28, the 1.5-million-kilowatt photovoltaic and grass cultivation project in Shangdu County, contracted as general contractor by Beijing Institute, successfully achieved grid-connected power generation for the first time, injecting strong momentum into the green and low-carbon development of the Inner Mongolia region.
The project is located in Shibaqing Town, Shangdu County, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The photovoltaic area covers a total area of approximately 4,141.24 hectares. The project is planned with an installed capacity of 1,500 megawatts on the AC side and 1,794 megawatts on the DC side, and plans to install 3.12 million 575-watt monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules, with a total investment of 6.698 billion yuan. It is the largest new energy key project under construction in Inner Mongolia in terms of installed capacity.
During the construction process, the Beijing Institute project department, in light of actual site conditions and the characteristics of EPC general contracting projects, closely focused on the grid-connected power generation goal, optimized construction organization and design plans, strengthened key routes, streamlined temporary facility layout, increased resource investment, organized meticulously, and quickly coordinated to resolve multiple bottleneck issues, taking multiple measures to ensure the orderly progress of project construction.
During the construction process, the project department consistently promoted the dual integration and dual improvement of Party building and key work. At various key nodes and in key tasks such as intensive construction, safety and quality, cost control, and post creation and zone establishment, it adhered to Party building leadership, fully leveraged the role of Party organizations as fighting fortresses, and supported the high-quality development of the project department.
The project is an important component of the new energy strategy of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and an important engine for promoting the green economic and social development of Ulanqab City. After completion, the project's cumulative annual power generation can reach 2.956 billion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to saving approximately 916,200 tons of standard coal, reducing soot emissions by 2,400 tons, sulfur dioxide emissions by 14,000 tons, and carbon dioxide emissions by 4.8 million tons. It is of positive significance for achieving the "dual carbon" goals and also has a good demonstration effect for the large-scale utilization and development of green energy such as solar and wind power.
With the smooth commissioning of the project, it will inject new vitality into the development of the new energy industry in Inner Mongolia and even the whole country, and promote high-quality economic and social development.
