Tower cranes stand in clusters, vehicles shuttle back and forth, machinery roars... At the site of the "Beijing Rocket Street" project, the country's first commercial aerospace common scientific research and production base, the main structures of the buildings are gradually rising, and the overall appearance of the project is becoming increasingly clear. Recently, all under-construction individual buildings of the "Beijing Rocket Street" project have completed the "plus-minus zero" construction milestone, and the main works of the project have fully entered the above-ground construction phase.

The "Beijing Rocket Street" project is a key project at both the Beijing municipal and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) levels, and construction was officially launched on July 4 this year. The project is located on Yingchang Street, Yinghai Town, Yizhuang New Town, covering an area of approximately 63,300 square meters, with a total floor area of 145,497.08 square meters. It includes one common technology test plant, two industrial upward standard factories, and three headquarters innovation R&D centers and enterprise incubation spaces. A relevant official of the BDA said: "The project covers a common technology platform, a high-end manufacturing center, an innovation R&D center, and a science and technology interactive exhibition hall. It features more than ten shared experimental platforms, including rocket R&D testing and production manufacturing. We are committed to building it into a one-stop, world-class aerospace R&D design, test verification, and industrial service platform."
The former production base of Beijing Xuelian Cashmere Co., Ltd. is now gathering strength for transformation and is about to undergo a dramatic change, becoming the country's first commercial aerospace common scientific research and production base. In October this year, at the Second Urban Renewal Development Forum of the BDA and the Third Beijing Urban Renewal Forum BDA Sub-forum, the "Beijing Rocket Street" project was rated as one of the "Top Ten Classic Cases of Urban Renewal." In 2023, under the leadership of the Development and Construction Bureau, Beijing Yizhuang Star Arrow Technology Industry Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yizhuang Star Arrow), a subsidiary of Beijing Yizhuang Urban Renewal Company, repurchased the production base of Beijing Xuelian Cashmere Co., Ltd. and carried out urban renewal through demolition and reconstruction to revitalize the land and build the "Beijing Rocket Street" project, creating favorable conditions for the implementation of key projects. Aiming at this goal, all commissions, offices, and bureaus of the BDA worked together in full coordination and completed the "acceleration" from project repurchase, project approval, demolition, and planning approval to commencement in only 83 days.
"As the platform company of the commercial aerospace industry in the BDA, we are committed to building a trinity business system of 'space + services + ecosystem' for the commercial aerospace industry. In the future, we will take the 'Beijing Rocket Street' industrial landmark project as the guide, give full play to the platform company's role in gathering, leading, and radiating the commercial aerospace industry, coordinate the building of industrial resources needed for the rapid development of commercial aerospace, and promote the clustering and upgrading of the regional commercial aerospace industry," said a relevant official of Yizhuang Star Arrow.
As of the end of December, the underground main structure of Building 3 was 100% complete, and its above-ground steel structure was 50% complete; the above-ground main structure of Building 2 was 50% complete; the above-ground main structure of Building 5 was 40% complete; the above-ground structure of Building 1 was 90% complete; the above-ground main structure of Building 4 was 70% complete; and the above-ground main structure of Building 6 was 60% complete. It is expected that before the end of January 2025, the installation of the above-ground steel structure of Building 3 will be 100% complete, the above-ground main structure of Building 2 will be 80% complete, the above-ground main structure of Building 5 will be 70% complete, the above-ground main structures of Buildings 1 and 4 will be 100% complete, and the above-ground main structure of Building 6 will be 90% complete.
According to the plan, in the first half of 2025, the exhibition setup for the "Aerospace + Science Fiction" series IP project in the commercial aerospace exhibition hall will be completed first, creating a popular commercial aerospace check-in destination and shaping an important window for showcasing Yizhuang's commercial aerospace achievements.
