On December 24, the Fumin County Luomian Laoganshan photovoltaic project, designed and constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd., achieved full-capacity grid connection, marking the full-capacity grid connection and power generation of the first batch of wind-solar base projects of the lower Jinsha River clean energy base, one of the nine major clean energy bases in China's 14th Five-Year Plan.
The Luomian Laoganshan photovoltaic power station project is located in Fumin County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, at an altitude of 2,000 to 2,200 meters. The site is generally undulating, with terrain slopes typically ranging from 5° to 40°, and some parts are relatively steep. After entering the site for construction, facing severe challenges such as poor construction conditions and tight milestone schedules, the project team of Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd., with the striving posture of "construction starts as a decisive battle, and the start is a sprint," led the project team to overcome difficulties and seize progress. Ultimately, with the standards of zero safety accidents, zero quality defects, and zero equipment failures, they successfully achieved multiple major milestone objectives including full-capacity grid connection and power generation, once again creating the "energy" speed of Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co., Ltd. for mountain centralized photovoltaics: "start construction in the season, achieve full-capacity grid connection and power generation in the season."
After the project's full-capacity grid connection, the average annual power generation can reach 3.6 billion kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2.84 million tons per year. It can effectively promote the economic and social development and comprehensive green transformation of the western region, and help advance the construction of China's new energy system. The commissioning of the project marks a key step forward in the overall construction of the national-level clean energy demonstration base (Yunnan side) for the integrated "wind-solar-hydro-storage" development in the lower Jinsha River, and also adds a new photovoltaic force to this year's energy security for the winter peak period.
The national-level clean energy demonstration base for the integrated "wind-solar-hydro-storage" development in the lower Jinsha River is located in the undeveloped dry-hot valley section of the lower Jinsha River mainstream. It is one of the first batch of 100-million-kilowatt large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases in the country, and has been included by the National Energy Administration in the first batch of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic base construction lists. Together with the four giant hydropower stations of Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Wudongde, and Baihetan (with a total installed capacity of 46.46 million kilowatts), it forms the world's largest clean energy corridor along a river.
