Although it is now the depths of winter, construction projects in Ruoqiang County are seizing the winter construction period, with construction proceeding at full swing and major projects achieving "accelerated" progress.

Recently, at the construction site of the Ka'erqia'er mining area of Hua'ou Mining in Ruoqiang County, located deep in the Altun Mountains, tower cranes stand in clusters and machinery roars. Workers move among the scaffolding, steel frames being hoisted crisscross back and forth, and the site presents a bustling scene where the temperature has dropped but the "heat" has not.

Steel frames are hoisted, shifted, lowered into place, and welded one after another. Steel structure erection on the EF axis of the main plant has now reached 60% of total progress, and the exterior structure of the main plant is beginning to take shape.

"At present, our goal is to ensure schedule, quality, and safety. According to the construction schedule, equipment installation is expected to begin in January next year," said Huang Maoqing, project department manager of China MCC5 Group.
Rebar worker Wang Dong, working at the site, is tying rebar for formwork closure on the mixing tank platform of the main plant building; a tying hook and a piece of tying wire are all the tools he has. Each tying wire, 20 centimeters long and 0.6 millimeters in diameter, becomes light and nimble in his hands. It takes only three to five seconds for one wire to firmly secure the rebar, and in a single day he can complete thousands of wire ties.
Wang Dong said: "Except in extreme weather, we work as normal. The company has issued us cotton gloves and cotton hats. Although the weather is very cold, once we get working we no longer feel the cold."
Because of the cold weather, the foundation pouring work for the living area construction has also been affected to some extent. "Now we can only pour during the warmer time slot from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; after 6 p.m. we must stop, otherwise the pouring quality would be seriously affected," said a worker at the site who was carrying out foundation pouring and mechanical leveling. To prevent the poured sections from freezing, after each day's pouring they must first lay plastic film over the freshly poured concrete surface, then cover it with thick warm felt and quilts and set up insulation sheds to lock in warmth, thereby ensuring pouring quality.
To further alleviate the heating problem caused by insufficient voltage at the mine, Hua'ou Mining, guided by the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection, has made full use of its uniquely favorable solar energy resources and built solar heating panels with an area of about 9,000 square meters in the living area. At present, as construction of the solar heating panels nears completion, rows upon rows of solar collectors stand in neat array, and countless blue-black all-glass vacuum tubes are arranged in orderly fashion, gleaming brightly, as if the mine has donned a suit of "blue crystal armor." Construction of the adjacent greenhouse vegetable sheds has also entered its final stage.
The construction project of the Ka'erqia'er fluorite ore processing plant in Ruoqiang County has a total building area of about 63,000 square meters, and the mine is designed for underground mining. The first phase of the project has a construction period of 3.5 years and an estimated investment of 1.61 billion yuan; the project adopts crushing and grinding, pretreatment, and flotation processes for ore processing. After the project is completed and reaches full production, ore processing capacity will reach 1.2 million tons, with an annual output value of 900 million yuan, generating 300 million yuan in profits and taxes and creating employment for more than 200 people. It will further promote the conversion of Ruoqiang's advantageous mineral resources and become a new driving force for the high-quality economic and social development of Ruoqiang.
