On December 13, 2024, the Annual Meeting of the Ice and Snow Sports and Emergency Rescue Equipment Branch of the China Construction Machinery Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association's Ice and Snow Equipment Branch) was successfully held in Beijing. The annual meeting was divided into three sessions—morning, midday, and afternoon—respectively chaired by He Wenyi, Secretary-General of the National Sports Industry Research Base of Peking University; Sun Xiaoqing, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association's Ice and Snow Equipment Branch; and Du Gang, Vice President of the Heilongjiang Ice and Snow Industry Research Institute.

In his speech, Wu Peiguo expressed sincere gratitude to relevant government departments and upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry for their guidance and support of the Association's work. He focused on introducing the development achievements of the construction machinery industry and the current economic operation status. He pointed out that ice and snow equipment, as one of the 21 major categories of the construction machinery industry, has now entered the best period of historical development, and he hoped that industry enterprises would seize the opportunity, benchmark against international advanced levels, increase investment in innovation, and accelerate the pace of development. At the same time, he put forward specific requirements for the next steps of the Association's Ice and Snow Sports and Emergency Rescue Equipment Branch.

Zhang Hongjun, President of the Association's Ice and Snow Equipment Branch, presents the report "Current Development Status of the Ice and Snow Equipment Industry"

In his report, Zhang Hongjun pointed out that boosted by the effect of the Winter Olympics, the ice and snow industry is flourishing, with increases in the number of ski resorts, ski visits, and skiers nationwide. Under the guidance of the latest ice and snow policies, various regions across the country, especially Northeast China, have taken the lead in promoting high-quality development of the ice and snow economy in the Northeast. The proportion of domestically produced large equipment such as snowmaking machines, snow groomers, and cableways is increasing day by day, and a large number of domestic equipment enterprises have emerged, including Beiqiyuan, Shuohuaji, Aisite, HebeiXuanggong, and Cabin Ski, among others. Seizing the opportunity of the transformation and upgrading of the ice and snow equipment manufacturing industry, domestic ice and snow brands are gaining increasingly rapid momentum through approaches such as extending the industrial chain or cross-sector cooperation. In the future, through approaches such as improving industry standards, regulating the ice and snow market, government-enterprise cooperation, and industrial structure upgrading, the product standard system will be improved and ice and snow equipment brands will be built.

In his speech, Wang Ping pointed out that China's sports industry has long-, medium-, and short-term goals, and that by 2035 the sports industry will become a pillar industry of the national economy. China's sporting goods manufacturing industry has a complete range of categories and rich varieties; it is developing rapidly and improving in quality and upgrading; its technological content is increasing, and its digitalization and intelligentization processes are accelerating. However, compared with the world's advanced level, there remain shortcomings such as being large but not strong, risks of being bottlenecked in certain fields, serious product homogenization, and the fact that domestically renowned sporting goods brands have not yet entered the international market. In the future, through approaches such as enhancing industrial competitiveness, raising labor productivity, and maintaining a reasonable ratio between manufacturing and producer services, we should firm up confidence, strive vigorously, and promote high-quality development of the sporting goods manufacturing industry.

In his speech, Zhao Yinggang stated that the Beijing Winter Olympics was a milestone in China's march toward becoming a sports power. After the Winter Olympics, China's ice and snow industry has ushered in new opportunities for high-quality development, with sports, culture, and tourism integrated as one, writing a new chapter for the ice and snow industry; high-level events promote the maturity and progress of cities; ski resorts, since the 1990s, have gone from leading, to running in parallel, to following, and then to achieving accelerated running after 2022; and the innovative development of ice and snow sports has entered the fast lane. In the future, the development of the ice and snow industry will face new models, new trends, and new changes, achieving standardization, intelligentization, and personnel professionalization. We believe that good national policies and good opportunities for ice and snow will surely bring good prospects for the industry.

Sun Xing, Deputy Director of the Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivers a speech

In his speech, Sun Xing pointed out that the successful hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics has driven the rapid development of the ice and snow equipment industry and spurred consumers' enthusiasm for participating in ice and snow sports. New technologies have brought new space for the development of ice and snow equipment, people's pursuit of a better life has put forward new demands for the high-quality development of ice and snow equipment, the ice and snow equipment industry shows characteristics of regional differentiated development, the number of small and medium-sized ice and snow equipment enterprises continues to increase, and a number of leading listed companies have emerged. At the same time, however, the development of the ice and snow equipment industry also faces many pain points, such as the need to further enhance industrial technological innovation capacity, weak brand awareness, a relative lack of high-end brands, and insufficient investment in industrial capital, technology, and talent. In the future, ice and snow equipment industrial clusters and parks will gradually take shape, and the rise of the digital economy will provide an opportunity to overtake on the curve for the high-quality development of the ice and snow equipment industry, achieving high-quality development of the ice and snow equipment industry.

Wang Zhaohong provided an in-depth interpretation of the policy "Several Opinions on Stimulating the Vitality of the Ice and Snow Economy through High-Quality Development of Ice and Snow Sports." Driving the development of the ice and snow economy through ice and snow sports is a need of the times, a requirement of development, and a path to prosperity. Against this background, national policies have been issued in a timely manner, taking ice and snow sports as the guide to drive the development of the entire industrial chain of ice and snow culture, ice and snow equipment, and ice and snow tourism, and promoting the ice and snow economy to become a new growth point; continuously promoting the development of ice and snow sports, improving the ice and snow economy industrial chain, improving infrastructure and supporting services, cultivating and strengthening ice and snow economy business entities, promoting and expanding ice and snow consumption, strengthening the guarantee of factors of the ice and snow economy, deepening external cooperation in the ice and snow economy, and strengthening service guarantees. We believe that with the support of national policies, broader development space will be brought to the ice and snow equipment industry.

In his speech, Zhu Chengyi pointed out that the Winter Olympics has brought huge development opportunities for ice and snow sports equipment. Due to historical development reasons, most of China's ice and snow equipment and apparatus are dominated by foreign brands. At present, more and more Chinese brands are innovating in popularization, technological advancement, and original creativity, adding vitality to "Made in China." In the development process of China's ice and snow equipment, the standardization and regulation of ice and snow equipment and apparatus have played an important promoting role. The Annual Meeting of the Association's Ice and Snow Equipment Branch is of great significance for implementing the national post-Winter Olympics strategic guidelines and measures for equipment and apparatus. He hoped that in the future everyone can work together, pool wisdom, build consensus, and strive for greater victories in pioneering ice and snow sports and the ice and snow economy.

Wen Yushuang, Vice President of the Environmental Industry Research Institute of XuzhouXCMGEnvironmental Technology Co., Ltd., presents the report "Current Status and Trends of Ice and Snow Removal Equipment Development"

Wen Yushuang elaborated on the future development of ice and snow equipment from the perspective of ice and snow removal equipment. She pointed out that at present China faces great threats from ice and snow disasters and great pressure on traffic safety guarantees, which can easily cause major losses to the national economy. Ice and snow removal equipment, since the 1980s, has undergone more than 40 years of development, with the industry scale gradually expanding. XCMG Environmental Company has laid out three major bases in Xuzhou, Hubei, and Liaoning, among which the Liaoning base is a specialized base engaged in integrated research, production, sales, and service of ice and snow removal equipment, with industry-leading intelligent production workshops and management systems, and an annual production capacity of 3,400 units of ice and snow removal equipment. In the future, XCMG Group will further practice green and environmentally friendly development methods, actively promote intelligentization and unmanned operation, promote high-speed and efficient equipment operation, solve existing problems in domestic ice and snow removal equipment, and contribute to the development of the ice and snow equipment industry.

In his speech, He Wenyi pointed out that ice and snow sports meet the upgrading needs of a better life, and that the sports industry is the product of combining sports undertakings with business models. Both the sports industry and the ice and snow industry have their own operating laws. Through cultural accumulation, resource allocation, digital re-creation, and so on, product value upgrading is achieved, the traffic of the sports industry is grasped, and innovative development of the sports industry is realized. At the same time, the support of digital economy/digital industry policies during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period will continue to promote the formation of new digital sports business forms, create educational and training models for digital-intelligent ice and snow and new scenarios for digital-intelligent ice and snow fitness and entertainment, assist competitive sports and the entertainment industry, innovatively activate the ice and snow intelligent manufacturing industry, and provide more energy for the development of the ice and snow equipment industry.

In his speech, Fan Jun pointed out that China's ice and snow equipment industry is developing rapidly. Among them, Hua Ice Sports Equipment (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., after nearly 10 years of development, has successfully launched intelligent ice resurfacer products, and he believes that in the future it will participate in the development of the ice and snow equipment industry in more scenarios.

Guest dialogue forum: How to achieve high-quality development of ice and snow tourism

In the latter half of the meeting, Du Gang, Vice President of the Heilongjiang Ice and Snow Industry Research Institute, chaired a guest dialogue forum themed "How to Achieve High-Quality Development of Ice and Snow Tourism." He Wenyi, Secretary-General of the National Sports Industry Research Base of Peking University; Han Gang, CEO of Heilongjiang Yabuli Sun Mountain Resort Co., Ltd.; Hu Wei, Director and General Manager of Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort; An Yachen, Chairman of Beijing Ruixue Zhongwang Ski Resort Management Co., Ltd.; and Zhu Jianming, Supervisor of Liaoyuan Automobile Modification Co., Ltd., participated in the discussion as dialogue guests. Relying on the background of the flourishing ice and snow industry after the Winter Olympics, the forum held discussions around hot topics in ice and snow tourism. The guests shared their views from different perspectives, contributing industry wisdom to the development of the ice and snow tourism industry.

On behalf of the Branch, Zhang Hongjun summarized the meeting. He stated that since its establishment, the Association's Ice and Snow Equipment Branch has played a positive role in promoting the development of ice and snow sports and emergency rescue equipment. In particular, the General Office of the State Council recently issued the "Several Opinions on Stimulating the Vitality of the Ice and Snow Economy through High-Quality Development of Ice and Snow Sports," proposing measures related to promoting the high-quality development of the ice and snow equipment and apparatus industry, which has also brought greater development space for the ice and snow equipment industry. In the future, he hoped to use the Association's Ice and Snow Equipment Branch as a link to connect upstream and downstream enterprises in ice and snow equipment and create a better future for the ice and snow equipment industry.
