Safeguard tranquility in summer, build water conservancy in winter. At present, it is the "golden period" for winter water conservancy construction. At the construction site of the Huatanzi Reservoir Project, a national-level major water conservancy project, the construction contractor is making full use of favorable conditions such as lower river water levels in winter to focus on quality, ensure safety, and accelerate progress, setting off a construction boom with fast and solid work.
Walking into the construction site of the Huatanzi Reservoir Project, large excavators are busy carrying out abutment excavation work among the mountains. Workers, wearing uniform safety vests and hard hats, are intensively and orderly carrying out construction of the concrete batching system. The roar of machinery fills the entire construction site, presenting a bustling scene of vigorous activity.
"At present, we have initially completed the 'three connections and one leveling' work, and the traffic tunnels on the left and right banks as well as the diversion tunnel have all been holed through. Excavation of the main dam has also started. There is a high slope of up to 150 meters on each side of the dam, and excavation of the first-level bench is now underway. In addition, construction of the mixing station is proceeding in an orderly manner, with 30% of the work completed, and it is planned to complete about 50% by the end of this year," said Zhao Pengbo, work area manager of the Huatanzi Reservoir Project.
The Huatanzi Reservoir Project is one of the 150 major national water conservancy projects. It is a Class II large (2) reservoir mainly for urban and rural water supply and irrigation, while also taking power generation into account. Since the project started construction, all participating units have overcome difficulties such as complex geological conditions and high construction difficulty. On the premise of ensuring project safety and quality, they have gone all out to seize the construction period and speed up progress, ensuring the rapid and efficient completion of construction tasks at each stage.
Zhao Pengbo, work area manager of the Huatanzi Reservoir Project, told the reporter: "In order to seize the golden period of autumn and winter water conservancy construction, our construction unit has deployed more than 100 workers and equipped more than 70 large pieces of equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and bulldozers to ensure the project can proceed in an orderly manner with high quality and high efficiency." It is understood that the Huatanzi Reservoir is the first large reservoir in Tongren. The dam site is located in Sinan County, downstream of the Qingdu River, a first-level tributary of the Wujiang River. The total storage capacity is 113 million cubic meters, and the construction period is 45 months. After the project is completed, it will effectively solve the production and domestic water use problems for 337,300 people in the central urban area of Sinan County and surrounding rural areas, as well as for the Sinan County provincial-level industrial park, Tangtou Bazi, and other contiguous irrigation areas totaling 50,100 mu. It will play an important role in promoting the comprehensive advancement of rural revitalization and the high-quality development of the regional economy and society.
