On December 17, the Hubei Provincial Double "Hundreds, Thousands, Tens of Thousands" Labor and Skills Competition Leading Project, jointly hosted by the Hubei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Provincial Department of Water Resources, together with the provincial water conservancy safety production risk control "Six Mechanisms" demonstration project activity, was held at the construction site of the Fushui Reservoir Hub Danger Elimination and Reinforcement Project. Nearly 70 cadres and employees from the water conservancy systems of prefectures and cities across the province observed on site.

Competition site

In the labor competition segment, 34 skilled technicians from 8 participating teams of 5 construction units of the Fushui Reservoir Hub Danger Elimination and Reinforcement Project competed in 5 competition categories, namely welding, engineering surveying, safety protection, drone operation, and excavator operation. After the contest, 9 contestants achieved excellent results.

At the event site, the relevant person in charge of the Fushui Reservoir Administration demonstrated the typical practices of the project legal person of the Fushui Reservoir Hub Danger Elimination and Reinforcement Project in implementing the "Six Mechanisms" of safety production risk control—risk identification, assessment, early warning, prevention, disposal, and responsibility—throughout the entire cycle in 21 aspects, including establishing a safety risk classification control system and carrying out hazard source identification. Using a method of "replacing many with few, replacing far with near, replacing the whole with points, and practical operation training," they organized nearly 110 people to conduct a practical emergency rescue drill for production safety accidents involving "cracks and piping in the cofferdam at the construction site, as well as injuries to rescue personnel." The entire process demonstrated the effectiveness of implementing the "Six Mechanisms" to effectively prevent and contain production safety accidents.

Competition site

It is reported that the Fushui Reservoir Hub Danger Elimination and Reinforcement Project has a total investment of 352 million yuan. It adopts the engineering procurement construction (EPC) model led by the construction unit and a design-construction consortium, and uses a supervision plus project management model. The project started on April 23 and has now completed the payment of funds for the additional government bond water conservancy project and the construction tasks, and the project is currently progressing smoothly. The labor competition of this project is one of the leading competition projects of the 2024 Hubei Provincial "Hundreds, Thousands, Tens of Thousands" Labor Competition, and it has also been listed as a demonstration project for the "Six Mechanisms" of water conservancy safety production risk control in Hubei Province.
