On December 16, a reporter learned from Yunnan Construction and Investment Group that in late this month, the Green Food Intelligent Industrial Park—the International Supply Chain Demonstration Center project—is about to complete final acceptance, marking a key step for this major project toward full production and operation.
The International Supply Chain Demonstration Center project is located in the Kunming area of the China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and is a new infrastructure project in Yunnan Province and one of the "Double Ten" key infrastructure projects. The project is invested in and constructed by Yunnan Yingjia Smart Industry Investment Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by Yunnan Construction and Investment Logistics Co., Ltd. (holding 51%), a subsidiary of Yunnan Construction and Investment Group, and Hong Kong Kunjing Capital Holdings Co., Ltd. (holding 49%), a subsidiary of Kunming Economic and Investment Group. With a total investment of 1.66 billion yuan, it covers an area of 206.19 mu and a total construction area of 176,000 square meters. Construction began in December 2022, and the main structure was topped out and watertight in November 2023.

Focusing on the high-quality development of the circulation supply chain for specialty agricultural products in Yunnan and neighboring countries, the International Supply Chain Demonstration Center plans five core functions: intensive processing of green food, cold-chain warehousing and logistics, scientific and technological innovation and R&D, smart park operations, and exhibition and experience. By introducing industry-leading business models, equipment and processes, and information technology, it will reconstruct the modern circulation system for agricultural products from field to table and promote deep integration of modern logistics, modern agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and modern circulation industries.
"The project site can quickly connect with airports, railways, and expressway networks, meeting the large-scale development needs of green food distribution, cold-chain warehousing, and processing and circulation," said a relevant person in charge of Yunnan Construction and Investment Logistics Co., Ltd. Following a whole-food-chain intensive processing factory model featuring intelligence, digitalization, and automation, the International Supply Chain Demonstration Center plans to introduce first-class production and processing equipment from more than 10 countries around the world. In the initial phase, it will deploy 14 fully automated production lines to meet the intensive processing needs of six major categories: vegetables, fruits, meat, poultry and aquatic products, puffed grains, tea, and coffee. It will be equipped with an automated high-bay cold storage and high-standard warehouses with multiple temperature zones, with a total storage area of 41,000 square meters, a storage capacity of 300,000 cubic meters, about 60,000 pallet positions, and a storage volume of 52,000 tons. The temperature zones cover -55°C to 15°C, and the facility is equipped with a smart warehousing management system and diversified storage functions such as freezing, cold storage, ambient storage, controlled-atmosphere preservation, fumigation, and ripening.

Once the park is completed and operating, it can provide professional intensive processing, warehousing and logistics services for various plateau specialty agricultural products, ensure the freshness and safety of food, help Yunnan's green food industry flourish, and bring consumers richer and higher-quality green food," said the aforementioned person in charge of Yunnan Construction and Investment Logistics Co., Ltd.
