On December 10, witnessed by local municipal officials and community leaders, School 2216 under Package 8 of the Peru La Libertad Region School Reconstruction Project was successfully handed over. This marks a major achievement by Package 8 in overcoming difficulties to ensure delivery, and lays a solid foundation for the subsequent handover of schools in high-altitude areas.
The school is located in a mountainous area of central Peru at an average altitude of nearly 4,000 meters. Since construction began, it has faced multiple difficulties, including high altitude, changeable weather, inconvenient transportation, and sparse population. During project implementation, Chinese personnel worked closely with local management staff. From planning and design to construction, every stage was executed in strict accordance with high standards, ensuring the quality and safety reliability of the project. In addition, in line with the actual needs of local residents, the project built retaining walls around the school to reduce the threat of geological disasters to teaching safety, and adopted high-standard seismic materials to safeguard the lives of teachers and students.
With the successful handover of School 2216, which presented the greatest construction difficulty, all staff on Package 8 will continue to adhere to refined management, maintain an efficient and rigorous work attitude, and strictly control project quality to ensure the remaining schools are delivered for use on time and to high standards. This not only further improves local education levels and facility conditions, but also injects new momentum into the development of education, helping Peru's education infrastructure construction reach new heights.
