From November 28 to 30, the 2024 China University Student Mechanical Engineering Innovation and Creativity Competition Intelligent Precision Assembly Competition (National Finals) kicked off at Soochow University. The three teams from Dalian University of Technology won the first prize, second prize, and third prize, respectively.

The Intelligent Precision Assembly Competition of the China University Student Mechanical Engineering Innovation and Creativity Competition is hosted by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. It is the highest-level and widest-ranging student competition in the field of intelligent assembly for mechanical-related disciplines at universities across the country. It aims to build a platform for the exchange and display of intelligent assembly technology, promote innovation in advanced concepts and technologies of intelligent assembly, and cultivate students' innovation and practical abilities. This competition attracted 503 teams from 129 universities across the country to register, of which 151 high-quality teams advanced to the national finals. The national finals mainly include automatic precision assembly, manual fine adjustment of components, on-site defense, and other segments, striving to comprehensively evaluate students' comprehensive skills in visual inspection, robot programming and control, simulation analysis, precision measurement, and their ability to analyze and solve practical problems.

The student teams from Dalian University of Technology began preparing for this competition in July this year. With the support of the School of Mechanical Engineering and under the leadership of their instructors, they successively carried out work such as scheme demonstration, theoretical analysis, and experimental control and verification. By completing a series of challenging tasks required by the competition, the students' comprehensive qualities were systematically trained, and their excellent professional skills and psychological qualities were also demonstrated. Participation in this competition will encourage students to actively take part in related professional competitions in the future and can further enhance their interest in learning professional knowledge and their ability to proactively apply the knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems.
