On December 10 local time, PowerChina signed a commercial contract with Serbia for Section 2 of Phase 1 of the main line of Belgrade Metro Line 1, marking the official launch of the construction of Serbia's main metro line.

Belgrade Metro Line 1 is Serbia's first metro project and one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe. It runs north-south through the main urban area of Belgrade. Phase 1 of Line 1 has a total length of 15.4 kilometers and includes 15 new stations. The design and construction of the civil works are divided into three sections.

As the company's first overseas metro project covering the full scope from design to construction, once completed and opened to traffic, it will greatly ease traffic pressure in the Belgrade urban area and expand space for urban development.
