On November 11, the "AI-Enabled New Quality Productive Forces in the Construction Industry Seminar and the Inaugural Meeting of the Digital Building and Smart City Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Research Society for Architecture and Historical Culture," hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Research Society for Architecture and Historical Culture, the International Green Building Alliance, and the Provincial Survey and Design Industry Association, and organized by China Information Consulting & Designing Institute Co., Ltd., was held in Nanjing. Industry experts from regulatory authorities, design institutions, universities, and enterprises gathered to jointly explore new pathways for the digital transformation of the construction industry and the development of smart cities.

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Miao Changwen, Liu Dawei, President of the Jiangsu Provincial Research Society for Architecture and Historical Culture, and other leaders and experts attended the meeting and delivered speeches. In his speech, Miao Changwen emphasized the critical role of digitalization, informatization, and intelligentization in the development of the construction industry, and expressed his expectations for the future work of the committee established that day, hoping that the committee could leverage its professional advantages in the process of empowering the construction industry and urban governance with digital technology, and promote the innovative development of smart cities and the construction industry.

During the meeting, academic discussions were held around the theme of "AI-Enabled New Quality Productive Forces in the Construction Industry." Feng Chuan of Beijing Glory Technology Co., Ltd. presented the intelligent application of large models and knowledge graphs in digital housing and urban-rural development; Professor Pan Peng of Tsinghua University discussed innovative practices of intelligent construction technology in civil engineering; Cheng Xiaogen, Vice President of iFlytek, shared explorations of the application of AI large models in smart buildings; and Niu Kun, Vice President of Huawei's Campus Business Group, explained technical practices in the fields of smart campuses and intelligent buildings.

A founding ceremony for the Digital Building and Smart City Committee was held concurrently with the meeting, announcing the official establishment of the committee. Academicians Miao Changwen and Meng Jianmin were appointed as chief advisors, and nine experts including Han Dongqing were appointed as specially invited experts. Relying on the research society, the committee proposed the establishment of a Joint Innovation Center for Integrated Application of Digital Twins. The committee will be committed to the digital and intelligent development of building and urban management, promoting the innovative application of new-generation information technology in engineering construction, urban management, housing safety, historical and cultural preservation, and other fields; conducting research on major theoretical and practical issues in the construction of "Digital Housing and Urban-Rural Development," and promoting the joint participation of universities, research institutions, enterprises, and others in the construction of "Digital Housing and Urban-Rural Development"; popularizing the development concept of "Digital Housing and Urban-Rural Development," strengthening publicity and training, promoting industry exchanges, guiding market entities to actively participate, and creating a favorable atmosphere for the entire industry to jointly advance the construction of "Digital Housing and Urban-Rural Development."

The meeting also set up a digital technology innovation exhibition area, where enterprises such as iFlytek, Huawei, and Glory Technology showcased their latest technological achievements, including AI large model products, digital design platforms, and intelligent construction platforms. Through visits and hands-on experiences, participants deeply felt the tremendous driving force of digital technology on building and urban management.
