Recently, the Funan 300 MW wind power project of the Funan wind-solar-storage base in southern Fuyang, Anhui Province, was connected to the grid at full capacity. The project is China's first demonstration application project of 66 kV on-site step-up and collector systems for onshore wind farms, and was selected as a Typical Case of Green Technology Innovation for 2024.

The project is one of the first batch of national large-scale wind and photovoltaic base projects, and is the first plain hybrid-tower wind power project constructed by PowerChina Chengdu Engineering Corporation Limited using the EPC general contracting model. Located in Funan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province, it installs a total of 60 wind turbine generator sets with a hub height of 160 meters. One of the research-model turbines has a hub height of 185 meters, making it the world's tallest hybrid-tower wind turbine. The total project capacity is 300 MW.

After commissioning, the project's average annual power generation will remain stable at a high level of approximately 650 million kWh, reducing the use of about 199,600 tons of standard coal and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by about 549,000 tons per year. This will effectively ease local environmental pressure, promote the sustainable development of a low-carbon economy, and drive the green and low-carbon transformation of Anhui Province's energy mix.
