Recently, the construction of all main pier pile foundations of the Chalu Hongjiang Grand Bridge of the Shaoyang-Yongzhou Railway Project Section 3 of China Railway 25th Bureau, located in Lengshuitan District, Yongzhou City, has been fully completed, laying a solid foundation for the next step of pouring the main pier and abutment bodies and for girder erection along the entire line.

Project construction site.
At the construction site of the Chalu Hongjiang Grand Bridge, engineering vehicles shuttle back and forth, and piers and abutments stand neatly in rows. Workers are busy at their respective work points.
The bridge has a total length of 3,050.955 meters and crosses an expressway, a provincial road, and a river, making it one of the key and difficult projects along the entire line. "The Chalu Hongjiang Grand Bridge is designed with 759 pile foundations, of which more than 80% have been completed. We are striving to complete all remaining pile foundations by the end of this month. A total of 43 pier and abutment bodies have been completed, accounting for 50% of the designed number for this bridge. At present, we are stepping up construction of the bridge substructure to lay the foundation for box girder erection next year," introduced Zhang Lingyun, bridge supervising engineer of the Shaoyang-Yongzhou Railway Project of China Railway 25th Bureau.
To ensure on-site construction safety, the project department has organized several special meetings to study and optimize the construction plan, made proper preparations for construction organization and technical disclosure, used daily pre-shift roll calls to communicate safety concepts, and formulated relevant rules and regulations and construction measure specifications. It has also scientifically mobilized resources such as "personnel, materials, and machinery" to achieve orderly organization and management, adequate resource guarantees, and controllable safety and quality, making every effort to ensure the orderly progress of project construction.
The Shaoyang-Yongzhou Railway has a total length of about 96 kilometers, a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and a construction period of four years. As an important part of the Hohhot-Nanning corridor in China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network, the Shaoyang-Yongzhou High-Speed Railway connects to the Loudi-Shaoyang Railway in the north and the Hengyang-Liuzhou Railway in the south. It is currently the largest railway project under construction in Hunan Province.
After the project is completed, it will form a new northbound corridor from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area together with the planned Yongzhou-Qingyuan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, open up a passenger transport corridor from Guangxi northward and eastward, and effectively ease the transport pressure on the Changsha-Hengyang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao corridor. It is of great significance for improving the regional railway network layout and promoting high-quality development in the central region.
