Recently, the 10th Tunnelling Engineering Annual Conference of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association, renowned as the "Oscar" of the global tunnel industry, was held in Genoa, Italy, where major tunnel and underground space projects from around the world competed for awards including the Annual Project Award and the Beyond Engineering Award. Following review and defense sessions, the green metro construction technology for the coastal complex geological environment of the Qingdao Metro Line 6 Phase I Project stood out among numerous global projects and successfully won the "Beyond Engineering Award," making it the only project in China to receive this award this year.

The International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (hereinafter referred to as ITA) was founded in 1974 and brings together 78 member countries. It is an international academic organization specializing in tunnelling and underground engineering and one of the most influential academic organizations in the world. The ITA Tunnelling Awards aim to recognize outstanding projects and individuals that have brought breakthroughs and innovation to the development of tunnels and underground space. The award is also widely recognized as the "Oscar" of the global tunnel industry and enjoys broad and far-reaching international influence.
