Recently, the Baishong Photovoltaic Phase II project, a hydro-solar complementary project of the Quxue Hydropower Station on the Shuqu River, was officially put into operation for power generation. It took 93 days and achieved the first filing, first construction start, and first commissioning among projects developed in the same batch.

The Baishong Photovoltaic Project is located in Baishong Town, Derong County, Garze Prefecture, at an altitude of 4,500 to 4,600 meters. It is currently the photovoltaic power station operating at the highest altitude in Sichuan Province. The total installed capacity of Phase I and Phase II of the station is 260 MW, comprising 84 photovoltaic arrays, and is connected to the Quxue Hydropower Station in the Shuqu River Basin via a 220 kV transmission line.

The project construction team worked united as one, overcame adverse factors such as severe cold and hypoxia, large daytime temperature differences, strong ultraviolet radiation, and difficult transportation, and carried forward the spirit of "lacking oxygen but not lacking spirit, enduring hardship without fear of hardship." They broke through constraints including reduced efficiency of machinery at high altitude, complex mountainous terrain, and high installation process requirements, and successfully installed the largest photovoltaic modules of the same altitude—N-type 710 W monocrystalline bifacial modules—advancing project fulfillment with high quality.

The Baishong Photovoltaic Power Station is connected to the Quxue Hydropower Station, realizing the "bundled" transmission of hydropower and photovoltaic power. After commissioning, the station's average annual power generation is 530 million kWh, which can save about 161,000 tons of standard coal and significantly reduce about 15.6 tons of sulfur dioxide, about 32.7 tons of carbon dioxide, and 15.4 tons of soot, delivering good environmental benefits. It completes the final piece of the million-kilowatt-level hydro-solar complementary clean energy base in the Shuqu River Basin and makes a positive contribution to the local winter peak electricity demand and economic and social development.
