On December 2, the reporter saw at the construction site of the supporting infrastructure project (Phase I) in the Guangming area of the Lingang cluster of Chongqing Baitao Industrial Park that multiple excavators were operating at full capacity and pressing ahead with construction,and transport vehicles were also shuttling back and forth,presenting a bustlingscene of intense construction activityat the site. At present, the project is more than 60% complete and is expected to be basically finished by March next year.

It is understood that the project is located in Guangming Village, Shituo Town, Fuling District, covers about 810 mu, and has a total construction period of 360 days. Its construction content includes a large-scale site formation project requiring about 4.52 million cubic meters of excavation; it also includes the construction of a 1.17-kilometer-long, 8-meter-wide road and a 47-meter-long bridge, among other works.

The project is divided into three main construction areas: Plot I#, Plot II#, and the reconstructed road. "At present, we are focusing on the earthwork excavation and outward transport operations in Plot II#, as well as slope support and interception and drainage ditch construction. The slope lattice construction in Plot I# is also being advanced simultaneously," said Chen Qiang, executive manager of the construction unit China Railway 23rd Bureau Group Co., Ltd.

Up to now, the project has completed 80.5% of the contract price. Earthwork excavation has completed 2.14 million cubic meters, accounting for 76.5%; rock blasting has completed 1.22 million cubic meters, accounting for 76.2%; drainage works have completed 3,693 meters, with a completion rate of 47.2%; retaining and protection works have been fully completed, reaching 100% cumulatively; surplus spoil disposal has completed 3.202 million cubic meters, accounting for 74.1%. In the follow-up, the project will strictly uphold the safety bottom line, orderly advance the remaining earthwork operations and outward transport in Plot II#, carefully improve slope support and drainage works, and at the same time accelerate construction in Plot I# to ensure the project is completed on schedule and with high quality.

It is understood that the project adopts a model of coordinated advancement of site construction and investment attraction, not only providing solid land support for enterprises and striving to create a thousand-mu chemical industry expansion zone, but also injecting strong momentum into the large-scale and modernized development of Fuling's chemical industry, playing an important role in the process of regional industrial upgrading.
