Recently, the Jatigede Hydropower Station was awarded the Best Localized Power Station Contribution Award by Indonesia's state-owned electricity company PLN. It is the only foreign-funded enterprise project in Indonesia to receive this honor in 2024, highlighting the project's achievements in promoting regional economic and energy development and localized construction.

The Jatigede Hydropower Station was constructed by a consortium formed by PowerChina International and Indonesia's PP Company. It is located in Jatigede Town, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, and relies on the already-built Jatigede Dam project to create favorable power generation benefits. The project has been widely praised for effectively driving the overseas expansion of Chinese technology, Chinese equipment, and Chinese solutions, and for playing an important role in local flood control, irrigation, power generation, and water resource management. At the same time, the project has driven equipment and material exports from neighboring countries and created more than 20,000 jobs for Indonesia, greatly improving the living standards of local residents. President Xi Jinping once named the project in a speech at the Indonesian parliament, fully affirming its value in regional economic development. For its outstanding performance in promoting regional economic and energy development and localized construction,

The Jatigede Hydropower Station draws water from the already-built Jatigede Reservoir (with a storage capacity of 1.062 billion cubic meters) for power generation. It has a designed diversion flow of 73 cubic meters per second and an installed capacity of 110 megawatts, generating approximately 450 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, which meets the annual electricity demand of about 500,000 Indonesian households. It is of great significance for alleviating the tight energy supply situation in the Indonesian region and supporting the industrialization process. The power station was officially handed over to Indonesia's state-owned electricity company PLN on June 28, 2024. With this, PowerChina's first hydropower station project in the Indonesian market has been successfully put into operation, becoming a new model for China-Indonesia energy cooperation and green development.
