On the Tongzhou section of the North Yanjiang High-Speed Railway, pier columns are rising one after another, beam-erection machines are operating intelligently, and builders are working with great vigor to race against time on construction milestones, playing a "song of endeavor" of vigorous progress across the land of rivers and sea.

Railway construction in full swing

Tower cranes stand in clusters and machinery roars... On November 25, on Renmin East Road in the urban area, the final closure segment of the continuous beam spanning Renmin East Road on the Nantong Grand Bridge of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu (North Yanjiang) High-Speed Railway, undertaken by China Railway First Group, was under intensive construction. "We are increasing inputs of personnel and machinery, seizing the golden construction period, and going all out to conquer project milestones," said the on-site person in charge.

The Tongzhou section of the North Yanjiang High-Speed Railway undertaken by China Railway First Group has a total of 7 continuous beams, of which 6 have been completed; the continuous beam spanning Renmin East Road is expected to be completed before the end of December. "The rapid progress of the project cannot be separated from the strong support of the Tongzhou District Party Committee, the District Government and departments at all levels, nor from the high-quality and efficient follow-up services of the Tongzhou District North Yanjiang Railway Project Service Command," said Wang Xiujun, Party branch secretary of the Second Sub-division of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway Project of China Railway First Group.

For a long time, the Tongzhou District North Yanjiang Railway Project Service Command has always regarded serving project construction as its primary task, implementing a "one-on-one" service mechanism to promptly resolve difficulties and problems encountered in project advancement, and continuously optimizing service processes and promoting "one-stop" follow-up services, effectively ensuring that construction of the Tongzhou section achieves "accelerated speed." At present, the Tongzhou section has completed 622 pile caps, 583 pier bodies, and 1,507.8 meters of continuous beams.

Expressway construction progress refreshed

In recent days, the "progress bar" of Nantong Ring Expressway construction has been continuously refreshed. With the completion of asphalt upper-layer paving on the last ramp of the Qi'an Interchange, all asphalt pavement construction on the section from Jinsha Interchange to Xinlian Interchange of the Nantong Ring Expressway has been completed.

The Haimen-to-Tongzhou section of the Tongxi Expressway (Nantong Ring Expressway) is an important component of the S19 Tongxi Expressway in the "Jiangsu Province Expressway Network Plan (2017-2035)," with a total length of 65.4 kilometers, of which the section from Jinsha Interchange to Xinlian Interchange is 31.96 kilometers long. Since the beginning of this year, in order to efficiently serve project construction, the Office of the Tongzhou District Service Command has gone deep into the front line to collect and understand the difficulties and bottlenecks in project advancement, analyzed and handled them through special studies, and adopted working methods such as "task list decomposition" and "problem registration and closure," clarifying work tasks and defining division of responsibilities, effectively ensuring the smooth advancement of the project.

Now, with the Nantong Ring Expressway about to open to traffic, this "golden belt" connecting Tongzhou's core area will step to the prelude of winter and sound a surging note.

Frequent good news in waterway construction

Recently, the Erjia Bridge of the Tongyang Line Tonglv Canal Waterway Regulation Project began lifting the cross beams of the main bridge, laying a solid foundation for the year-end sprint. Turning the lens to the Xinjianghai River, the Shuangqiao Hub Project of the Tonghai Port Area-Tongzhou Bay Port Area Access Channel has completed housing expropriation and demolition as well as pole and line relocation, and construction of the main lock chamber and lock bridge is in full swing. The bridge project of the Nantong Urban Section Waterway Regulation Project of the Tongyang Line is likewise exerting full effort and racing for "accelerated speed"; the Kan'an Bridge is expected to complete bridge deck construction in December, and the Jintong Third Avenue Bridge is expected to meet traffic-opening conditions in January next year, with waterway transport project construction showing a vigorous trend of each striving to outdo the others.

In recent years, as waterway transport projects such as the Tongyang Line Tonglv Canal Waterway Regulation Project, the Tonghai Port Area-Tongzhou Bay Port Area Access Channel Regulation Project, and the Nantong Urban Section Waterway Regulation Project of the Tongyang Line have successively started construction, Tongzhou has fully sounded the march of being the main battlefield of Nantong's waterway transport construction and is accelerating the building of a modern waterway transport system featuring river-sea linkage.
