The Shenzhen Gongming Reservoir–Qinglinjing Reservoir Connection Project is one of the supporting projects of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project within Shenzhen, and is also the largest single-investment water conservancy project since the founding of Shenzhen. The main water conveyance trunk line is 41.28 km long, with branch lines totaling 11.13 km, and a normal water conveyance capacity of 1.85 million cubic meters per day. Once completed, the project will connect the two major storage projects, Gongming Reservoir and Qinglinjing Reservoir, realize a dual-water-source supply layout for Longgang District and Longhua District of Shenzhen, safeguard Shenzhen's strategic water supply reserve targets, enhance water security capacity, and create conditions for emergency water supply to Hong Kong.

The main construction content of the Shenzhen Gongming Reservoir–Qinglinjing Reservoir Connection Project includes: 1 water conveyance trunk line, 2 water intakes, 3 access tunnels, 4 booster pump stations, 5 water distribution branch lines, and 6 working shafts. Since March 2024, multiple large pieces of Bauer professional equipment have participated in the construction of the project's foundation works, providing support for high-quality construction and schedule control.

The photo below shows two Bauer MC 96 / BC 40 dual-wheel trench cutters and one Bauer MC 128 / BC 50 dual-wheel trench cutter participating in the construction of the Yantian ventilation and drainage shaft. The diaphragm wall of this project is 1.2 m thick and 88.15 m deep, with a maximum rock penetration depth of more than 60 m; the rock strength is generally high.

As of the end of September 2024, all 24 diaphragm wall panels had been completed. The standard configuration of the Bauer MC 128 / BC 50 dual-wheel trench cutter has a maximum construction depth of 150 m, and the maximum depth completed in projects it has participated in is 251.4 m, enabling it to meet the needs of some ultra-deep underground engineering projects with higher technical requirements.

The Nankeng Pump Station includes 4 shafts, of which two large shafts are the booster pump station and distribution shaft, and the other two are intake pool shafts. The photo below shows Bauer's latest model, the BCS 185 dual-wheel trench cutter, working at the booster pump station shaft; the diaphragm wall of this shaft was successfully completed in early September 2024.

At present, a total of two Bauer BCS 185 dual-wheel trench cutters and two Bauer BC 40 MC 96 dual-wheel trench cutters are participating in the construction of the other three shafts in this work area. Rock strata are encountered from 0–10 m below the construction platform. The most difficult distribution shaft diaphragm wall has a construction depth of 96.15 m, and the foundation pit excavation depth reaches 91.15 m. This places extremely high demands on the working capability, controllability, visualization, quality control, and stability under long-term high-load operating conditions of the construction equipment. The project is currently progressing steadily.
