The SPIC Binhai 2×1,000 MW thermal power expansion project is located in the Binhai Port Area of Yancheng Port, Jiangsu Province, with a total investment of 8.03 billion yuan. It is a clean coal-fired power station featuring multi-energy complementary integration of thermal power, wind, solar, and storage, with thermal power as the foundation. Relying on the unique advantages of the Binhai Port coal terminal resources and the energy industry foundation of concentrated contiguous construction land, it plans to build two million-kilowatt ultra-supercritical double-reheat coal-fired units.

"After the project is put into operation, the annual power generation can reach 10 billion kWh, which can not only effectively play the bottom-line guarantee role of coal power, but also provide strong deep peak-shaving support for the large number and rapidly growing new energy projects in the Yancheng area, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power grid," introduced Gao Guodong, Party branch secretary and project manager of the Binhai Expansion Project Department.

Since the first batch of concrete was poured for the boiler house, the Binhai Expansion Project has strictly carried out work including personnel and equipment entry, scheme preparation, and safe and civilized construction planning. The project team has planned meticulously, worked with fine attention to detail, compressed responsibilities, supervised at every level, and actively overcome many difficulties such as muddy soil and equipment supply assurance, while vigorously grasping intrinsic safety and quality management during project construction. Especially during the excavation of the circulating water crossing section and the steel sheet pile construction, the project department's various management requirements could not be fully implemented, and problems found in process inspections were never effectively resolved. To this end, the project department quickly established an investigation team to conduct a comprehensive and thorough investigation of the relevant issues, while also doing a good job of experience feedback and making comprehensive improvements in systems, processes, and management, thereby promptly eliminating hidden dangers and ensuring safety. Since the project commenced, the overall safety production situation has been stable, and the project's brand image has continued to improve.
