Workers and machines are working closely together to compact the shoulders on both sides of the road, making full preparations for the greening work along the road next spring.

According to reports, the project starts outside the entrance of Wangzhangzi Village, Tangdaohe Town, Kuancheng, and ends at the border with Qinglong County, Qinhuangdao City. The route has a total length of 17.393 kilometers and is generally a Class III highway, with a subgrade width of 7.5 meters, a pavement width of 7.0 meters, and an asphalt concrete pavement. At present, 13.7 kilometers of the asphalt lower layer have been completed, and efforts are being made to complete the main works by the end of 2024.

"This used to be a cement road, full of potholes and inconvenient to travel on. Now it has been changed to an asphalt road, and the surface is smooth and even, making travel more convenient in the future," said Guo You, a villager from Tangdaohe Village, Tangdaohe Town, Kuancheng, happily as he looked at the flat and smooth road.

Tangdaohe Town is located in the eastern part of Kuancheng, and local residents have only one trunk highway for travel, making transportation very inconvenient. Once the project is successfully completed, it will further improve the road traffic conditions in the areas along the route, perfect the road network structure in the eastern region, facilitate residents' travel, and boost the economic development of villages along the route. Zhang Pu, Party Secretary and Director of the Kuancheng Transportation Bureau, said, "Next, by continuously optimizing the rural road network structure and improving road conditions and service capacity, we will strive to build rural roads into 'safe roads, prosperity roads, heart-connecting roads, and revitalization roads' at the doorsteps of the people."
