Uphold Party Building as the Guide: Forge Ideas and Build Brands
In October, the Party branch of the Planning Institute of Guizhou Water Resources Institute carried out a themed Party Day activity titled "Comprehend the Great Journey · Compose a Brand-New Chapter" at the "Guiyang Red Ribbon Long March Digital Technology Art Museum," aiming to temper the steel-like will of branch members, build the Planning Institute's Party building brand of "Guizhou Water Goes First · Planning Leads," and shape a planning team that "endures hardship, excels at striving, and values dedication."

In recent years, centering on the Party building brand of "Guizhou Water Goes First · Journey to Mountains and Rivers," the 15 Party branches of Guizhou Water Resources Institute have carried out "one branch, one brand" development in accordance with their own work realities, making Party building better fit production and operation practices. This has formed a diversified business pattern of "six plus one"—water conservancy as the mainstay, plus electric power and new energy, municipal engineering, transportation, construction, ecology, and informatization—as well as a vertical business layout covering planning and consulting, survey and design, construction management services, and operation management services, advancing the company toward becoming an international engineering company driven by science and technology and capital.
"The fundamental goal of creating a Party building brand is to serve the development of all undertakings in the enterprise's production and operation, so it must be carried out around the theme of giving play to the role of Party organizations as fighting fortresses and the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members, and must be well positioned around the role of serving the central work of production and operation," said Shen Xianping, Party Secretary and Chairman of Guizhou Water Resources Institute.
To further give play to the role of Party organizations and Party members on the front line of engineering construction, the Party Committee of Guizhou Water Resources Institute has, by establishing temporary Party branches and forming Party member commando teams and youth vanguard teams in major survey and design projects, general contracting projects, construction projects, and urgent, difficult, dangerous and heavy work on the front line, fully given play to the fighting fortress role of Party branches and the exemplary and leading role of Party members. It has also actively carried out joint Party building activities with owners, construction parties, supervision parties and other parties, playing the role of a booster and lubricant in various business work.
Focus on the Water Conservancy Front: Produce Fine Works and Achieve Outstanding Results
Guizhou Water Resources Institute is the only scientific research, survey and design enterprise in Guizhou Province holding more than 10 Grade-A qualifications in the water conservancy and hydropower sector, including engineering consulting, surveying and mapping, investigation, and design. It is the vanguard of water conservancy construction in Guizhou.
Since its founding, the Institute has consistently upheld the concept of advancing ecological civilization through spiritual civilization development. It has compiled water resource development, utilization and protection plans for hundreds of rivers in the Yangtze and Pearl River basins, as well as water conservancy development plans at all levels, and has completed the survey and design of more than 2,000 projects and more than 80 general contracting and project management projects in fields including water conservancy, electric power, transportation, municipal engineering, construction, and new energy.
Guanyin Reservoir, Xuanwei Reservoir... Guizhou Water Resources Institute has actively participated in the survey and design of major water conservancy projects in the province, achieving remarkable results. It has also expanded its market to Hubei, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Hunan, Chongqing, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other provinces and regions, as well as countries in Africa and Southeast Asia, introducing Guizhou's new water conservancy technologies and achievements to the whole country and even the world.

In restoring fish migration channels at reservoir dams, Guizhou Water Resources Institute was the first to propose a fish lift system in practical engineering, solving an important long-standing issue troubling the ecological development of water conservancy—the survival of migratory fish. At the same time, it has advanced integrated services for new energy projects such as photovoltaics, wind power, and pumped storage, effectively accelerating the development and utilization of new energy.
In response to the engineering technical challenges posed by the mountainous and karst terrain of Guizhou, the Institute has actively carried out key technical research on major projects such as comprehensive development, utilization and optimal allocation of water resources in mountainous areas, and survey evaluation of reservoir and dam construction conditions and seepage prevention treatment in strong karst areas. It has developed more than 50 distinctive technologies and 4 core advantageous technologies, won more than 200 provincial, ministerial and industry awards, and holds more than 140 patents and software copyrights, with a achievement conversion rate of over 80%.
In smart water conservancy development, Guizhou Water Resources Institute has integrated information technologies such as 3S technology, BIM technology, VR technology, cloud computing, and big data to carry out water conservancy informatization research and development in areas such as joint water resource scheduling, sponge city construction, urban drainage and flood control. These include the Water Conservancy Cloud APP, the hydrological forecasting and early warning big data platform, the river and lake big data management information system, and the water conservancy 3D digital base map platform, which have been widely applied in river and lake big data and riverbank line management, water conservancy project construction and operation management, among others. The smart resettlement full-life-cycle management cloud platform has also been applied to large domestic water conservancy projects such as Datengxia in Guangxi and Yincho Jiliao in Inner Mongolia.
Enrich Cultural Carriers: Promote Civility and Foster New Trends
In June, the football team of Guizhou Water Resources Institute held a friendly match with the football team of Guizhou Water Resources and Hydropower Vocational and Technical College. Employees of the two organizations showed full athletic passion on the field, fully demonstrating their vitality and style.
In September, in the "Guizhou Water Goes First · Journey to Mountains and Rivers" air volleyball competition of Guizhou Water Resources Institute, 225 athletes from 15 representative teams from various Party branches and departments worked together and strove hard, reflecting the positive and enterprising spirit of the employees.
In October, the national water conservancy system touring exhibition of fine arts and calligraphy works celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was held at Guizhou Water Resources Institute. Through the form of art, it showcased the spiritual outlook and profound patriotic feelings of water conservancy workers in the new era, and praised the brilliant achievements of the water conservancy cause.
