During the China International Import Expo, a variety of trade and business activities were held concurrently. On the afternoon of November 6, a matchmaking and exchange meeting between Zhejiang foreign trade enterprises and international engineering enterprises and international buyers was held in Shanghai.
The event invited nearly 70 international engineering enterprises and international buyers. The procurement needs of the engineering enterprises covered multiple industries such as industrial control, building materials, mechanical equipment, and electromechanical equipment. The international buyers came from Peru, Senegal, Thailand, Nepal and other countries and regions, attracting over a hundred foreign trade enterprises from across the province.

Li Lin, Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Development Division of the Provincial Department of Commerce, told reporters that Zhejiang has a solid industrial foundation and complete supporting facilities, and enterprises are highly motivated to expand markets. Many foreign trade enterprises hope to strengthen matchmaking and coordination with engineering enterprises, which can create "going global" opportunities for quality Zhejiang goods from numerous small, medium and micro enterprises.
"We happen to have procurement needs right now!" Yu Yingjia, supply chain head of Zhejiang Junneng New Energy Co., Ltd., told reporters that the company recently negotiated a microgrid project of "distributed photovoltaic + energy storage + diesel power generation" with an island country in Oceania. The project is divided into three phases in total; the first phase will install 2 MW of photovoltaic and 3 MWh of energy storage equipment, with a total investment of nearly 2 million US dollars, and equipment procurement is about to begin.

At the event, the matchmaking and exchange meeting had prepared a buyer list in advance, enabling foreign trade enterprises to fully understand the procurement intentions of the engineering enterprises. During the nearly two-hour matchmaking and exchange session, representatives from several photovoltaic, energy storage and cable enterprises found the table sign of Junneng New Energy and came to promote their products and leave contact information. "Compared with exchanges at exhibitions, this is more targeted and more efficient," Yu Yingjia said.
"We are still 'novices' in this area." A relevant person in charge of Wenzhou Weicheng Electric Co., Ltd. said that the company mainly produces industrial switch products for power transmission and distribution, and has entered markets in Russia, India, Eastern Europe and other countries and regions. Due to business development, it hopes to further expand into African and Middle Eastern markets.
At this exchange meeting, he learned that the company's products matched the procurement needs of leading enterprises such as PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited and China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., and he proactively went to exchange contact information, "hoping to further connect and cooperate in the future."

This matchmaking and exchange meeting was hosted by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province and co-organized by the People's Government of Jiashan County. It is an innovation under the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province's "Thousands of Delegations, Tens of Thousands of Enterprises" action to expand markets and increase orders. "In the past, negotiations at exhibitions were the mainstream form of market expansion for enterprises. We hope to broaden the ways enterprises receive orders," Li Lin said. By building such an exchange and cooperation platform, enterprises can be helped to seize opportunities in foreign contracted projects, strengthen coordination along the upstream and downstream of the supply chain, establish mutually beneficial cooperative relations, and further promote the expansion of Zhejiang's competitive products into international markets.
In addition, the matchmaking and exchange meeting also invited commerce departments from all cities across the province to participate, fully exchange and connect with the attending enterprises, and bring first-hand information back to their localities to continuously serve local foreign trade enterprises.
