During this National Day holiday, key infrastructure projects and industrial projects across the province did not halt work or close down, turning the holiday "golden week" into a project "sprint week" and driving project progress to "accelerate."
On October 6, at the Jintangchong Reservoir Hub Project site in Yiyang, large engineering vehicles shuttled back and forth amid roaring engines. Builders stayed at the construction front line, seizing the period to advance work, with abutment excavation and navigation-channel excavation downstream of the dam axis proceeding in full swing. Jintangchong Reservoir is one of the ten landmark projects under Hunan's 14th Five-Year Plan for Water Security, and is a flood-control project on the main stream of the Zi River. It focuses on flood control while integrating irrigation, power generation, and comprehensive benefits such as navigation and ecology. The project has a total investment of over 9.8 billion yuan and a total storage capacity of 214 million cubic meters.
"At present, the filling of the cofferdam dike has been completed and has advanced smoothly to the top elevation, 30 days ahead of the original schedule," said Liu Zhao, project manager of the construction project department of the EPC general contracting project for the Jintangchong Reservoir Hub Project. In October, the project fully shifted into the main construction phase, focusing on the construction of the sluice gates.
At the construction site of the southern section of the Meipu Link Line project, the two tubes of the Baihe Tianchi Tunnel are advancing rapidly. The Meipu Link Line is a north-south "artery" connecting Meixihu and Hanpu in Changsha. The project is 4.45 kilometers long and is built in two sections, north and south. The northern section of the Meipu Link Line (Meixihu West Extension Line–Xuehu Road) was completed in 2021, while the southern section (Xuehu Road–Xianggeli Avenue) is under construction.
"The weather this National Day is cooler, so the workers are doing more." The person in charge of the Meipu Link Line project at Xiangxin Investment Co. of Xiangjiang Group said the project did not stop work during the holiday and pressed ahead with progress, striving to achieve the goal of "breakthrough in the first half of next year and completion and opening of the entire line next year."
During the National Day period, the BYD Electronics capacity expansion and upgrading project in Changsha was pushed forward with extra shifts. By leasing high-standard factory buildings in the Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone's 5G Intelligent Terminal Industrial Park, it is building a production base for high-end smartphones and other terminal products, with an expected annual output of more than 10 million intelligent terminals.
