Recently, at the construction site of the Shandong Linzi to Linyi Expressway (hereinafter referred to as the "Linlin Expressway"), workers were installing the central median guardrail. The completed road is smooth and broad, stretching into the distance, and the construction of the Linlin Expressway has entered the final sprint stage toward full-line opening to traffic.

The Linlin Expressway connects nine counties and districts across the two cities of Zibo and Linyi. It links to the Zhanlin Expressway in the north and reaches the Rilan Expressway in the south, crossing the Qingyin, Jiwei, Qinglan, and Rilan expressways, and intersecting with the Dongliang Expressway under construction and the Weizou Expressway soon to be built, achieving interconnection among six expressways. The main line of the project has a total length of 192.618 kilometers, of which the remaining section from Zhongzhuang Interchange to Yimeng Hub is expected to be completed and opened to traffic this month, at which point the Linlin Expressway project will achieve full-line connectivity.

The Linlin Expressway is the project under construction in Shandong Province with the longest total tunnel mileage (45 kilometers of single-tube length), the largest number of tunnels (15), and the most complete range of rock types, and can be called the "Shandong Highway Tunnel Museum".
